Another HOF snub.
Art Monk should be in, but another player who I really liekd that still isn't in. Thurman Thomas. Why isn't he in?
|
Re: Another HOF snub.
cause he's not as good as other people on the list...
|
Re: Another HOF snub.
and he lost his helmet at the superbowl
|
Re: Another HOF snub.
I thought this thread would have to do with just about any one of the Hogs.
|
Re: Another HOF snub.
Thurman will get in, probably quicker than it will take Monk to.
|
Re: Another HOF snub.
Is Mark Mosley in? He played mainly before I was born and I've never really checked into his stats (and I'm too lazy to do so now) but I figure any kicker who could be the league MVP is probably HOF worthy.

I've been clamoring for Jacoby and/or Grimm to get in for years. I can't believe not a single Hog is in |
Re: Another HOF snub.
probably the best offensive line ever assembled. bostic, grimm, may, and jacoby should all be there. can anyone think of a better all round line?
|
Re: Another HOF snub.
we also had a return guy with 23,000 yards or production, #2 to only jerry rice I believe, and he's not sshy about throwing his name in either ;)

its hard... roaf, shields, waters have also been pretty solid. Any OL guy that goes to 10+ pro bowls is probably pretty good though. |

Jacoby was a monster the last Super Bowl year. I believe he did not allow a single sack and was also only whistled for like 2 or 3 penalties. Grimm was a rock on the Hogs line and playeed on the premier offensive line in football for 10 years. Seems the HOF is about offensive scoring numbers and not how many holes were opened for those running touchdowns or how many blocks resulted in allowing the QB time to throw a TD. The stats these boys tallied don't count much with the voters but they are hall of famers with those that know the game. |

In a word....NO! |

An absolute wall. Let's not forget George Starke. Original Hog. |
Re: Another HOF snub.

|
Re: Another HOF snub.

Thomas has only been eligible for (two?) years. His final seasons were much like Monk's - playing for teams he shouldn't have, and not producing up to his own standards. Despite Thomas's enormous talent, I feel he's a player who benefited greatly from the scheme he played in, and wasn't a first ballot kind of guy. He'll make it, but the wait is appropriate. ArtMonkDrillz made an interesting statement earlier about Moseley. I must confess I've never put him near the Canton level, but I don't think of kickers that way. Given his MVP status, maybe I should. I think his name should at least enter the conversation, and it's a shame it hasn't. |

Every f$%^* Bill that lost all those super bowls will get in, while the hogs and monk won't! |

The Bills with OJ , and the Miami's with Czonka and Kick were both very good,Emmit had a couple of good O line's so were the 49's with Montana.:food-smil |
Re: Another HOF snub.
I find it ironic that Joe Gibbs got in as a great head coach and one of the best offenive minds in NFL History yet three of his main cogs on that offense, Jacoby, Grimm and especially Monk dont get their due. Other teams who won as much over an extended period like Gibbs Skins did seem to have gotten more than one player in the HOF yet only Riggins has gotten that respect from the media thus far.
Joe Gibbs to me is one of a handful of the greatest coaches ever to live but he didn't do it alone. He had great players who came up big on the biggest stage. Monk to be is a no brainer yet he isn't in. Jacoby and Grimm were the very best of one of the best offensive lines of all time, an offensive line that Gibbs built his great offense around. No other modern era coach has relyed as much on a great offensive line as Gibbs did IMO because he was the master of ball control which puts a heavy burden on your offensive line. I hate to whine and say there is an anti Redskins bias going on with the HOF but it sure looks that way...and of course I am biased...LOL. |

No he's not. The only Placekicker to make it so far is Jan Stenerud |

Well for one, this was Thurmans first year eligible to be voted into the HOF. So it is not a matter of IF he gets in more of a matter of when. Troy Aikman was the only first year ballot to get selected to the HOF this year. |

My intent was to point out the fact that Thomas, although deserving, was not a first ballot selection is all. Nothing more, Nothing less, I see no reason for you get so defensive about that. But to make you feel better I will simply say that "there was only one first ballot HOF selectee this year". |

CRT3. Dude, don't let STJack get you in his trap man! His purpose in life is to trap us! His posts don't necessarily "flame" as much as they start a smoldering and smoking! He knows that Acheman never deserved the HOF ballot, much less entrance when compared to the greatest QBs. Acheman's stats only impressed the Len Fatsquierlis and P. Queens of the world, just like Stallworth & Swann combined do not compare to Art Monk. But they are in! Ask him: Who knocked Acheman clean out of his career? Ask him: How did those two cowgirls / Redskins games go last year? Ask him about last year's cowgirl playoff run! |

Re: Another HOF snub.
I cannot BELIEVE you guys are so PARANOID. I tried to make a sincere, repespectable post/observation about the subject of this thread (which was about Thurman Thomas) and you guys try so hard to read into it that you will twist anyway you can so it at least appears that I am trying to be offensive and flame your board.
You guys should relax man, I have been a member of this board for several months now and enjoy visiting here and reading the discussions. You can take a rivalry so far. I have always tried to be respectful of your board, all I ask in return is that you at least give my posts the benefit of the doubt and at least take them at face value and not read anything into what I say. So, to again state that which I tried in my original post is that Thurman Thomas was a first ballot candidate this year, did not make it. He will and it is just a matter of time. He just did not make it his first time eligible. |
Re: Another HOF snub.
You can't believe we react like that?
hahaha, haven't you heard enough crude, impulsive remarks in your several months here already? Just don't react. I mean honestly, who's worse, the idiot, or the idiot who argues with him? (not saying anyone is an idiot here). Its all good. Just a side note: try posting in a dallas post as a redskins fan. It gets just as ugly my man. On a personal note: Get the brooms out its time for another sweep baby! |
