NFC vs AFC

After all the moves in the offseason which is the better~ AFC or NFC and lets not be biast because of the skins being in the NFC. Also which is the overall best region

Re: NFC vs AFC

If you are only as good as your weakest link, it's still the AFC because the NFC West is horrible. So that's my answer.

NFC has too many teams that suck, or need improvement. Definitely the AFC.

The NFC west has the current champion. Arizona is one of the most improved teams.

The AFC south is definitely worse with the Titans, Texans, and Colts taking a step back.

Re: NFC vs AFC

I don't know how the Titans and Texans have taken a step back. The Colts were pretty good to begin with. They are a much stronger division than the AFC East actually.

The west has San Francisco and St. Louis. That's convincing right there. But the Hawks have way too many question marks following them right now. Arizona is much improved...but they are still Arizona
They are a much stronger division than the AFC East actually.
I wouldn't go that far...they are on par if not a bit weaker. Still, I can't see how it's possible for the Texans to have taken a step back. Their old coaching staff stunk and now that they have the 1'st pick in each round they can only get better. The Titans cleaned house last year and they had a host of injuries. They'll do a lot better next year but they'll still be an 8-8 team at best.

All in all the AFC is a better conference but the NFC East is the strongest division and I am not saying that because I'm bias. I'm saying it because the NFC east has better quality coaches who have been who have been with their respective teams at least two years.

Re: NFC vs AFC

I agree with saden1 that the NFC East is again emerging as the most exciting division in football. You might make an argument for the AFC West, but I'll take good defense to go with my offense and stay with the NFC East. As for the better conference. Well, using points per ranking, the AFC has a better overall offense by a score of 274-254. The NFC has a better overall defense by a score of 285-243. But where it counts, in the win-loss column, the AFC edged out the NFC last year 34-30. So, I guess that as of the end of last season, the AFC was still the better overall conference.

AFC is and has been better for awhile

Re: NFC vs AFC

The AFC is better than the NFC as a whole. The NFC really has two worthless divisions (at least last year) in the NFC North and West, as they weren't even competitive. I dont think though, that the AFC is THAT far ahead of the NFC, both have their share of crappy and very good teams. They have won the 5 of the last 6 super bowls though, so they defintley have braging rights.

the afc as a whole is better but the nfc east should be a killer this year

Re: NFC vs AFC

The NFC is definitely gaining steam right now. I feel that they are about even and see the NFC taking the lead soon. I think the strongest division in football is the AFC West, followed closely by the NFC East.

The AFC is more competitive with fewer bad teams, but a FEW of the NFC teams will be the best in the NFL next year I think. The Panthers, Redskins and Giants.

The AFC West and the NFC East are the toughest divisions in football, despite the Raiders stinking.

Well, their fans ARE pretty intimidating.

They should ask a few of their fans to play the line for them...they might be better.

They'd at least know not to jump offsides on every play.

Somehow the Raiders have been undiciplined since I can remember. They're ALWAYS one of the most-penalized teams in the league, even way before Turner can.

Norv didn't ruin the Raiders, he just didn't help them.

Re: NFC vs AFC

Is it just me or does anyone else see that our skins team is being built to resemble an AFC team, I mean think about the past two years of players signings and our skilled positon players came either from the draft or an AFC team.

Mark Brunell - Jacksonvill - AFC
Clinton Portis - Denver - AFC
Santana Moss - NY - AFC
Chris Cooley - Draft
A. Randle El - Pittsburgh - AFC
Marcus Washington - Colts - AFC
C. Furia - New England - AFC

Does anyone think that this is just a coincidence(SP)?

Re: NFC vs AFC

I agree the NFC East it's once again the most exiting Division in football but when I analyse the teams I still see Pitsburgh, NE and Colts ( depending on the RB they trade/pick) beating any NFC team so I have to give it to the AFC hands down.

Right now i would say AFC they have the super bowl champs and their divisions will be stronger this year. I think the browns will be better this year and i see the titans as the worst overall team in the conference.

Re: NFC vs AFC

The AFC West may have been up and down last year - but they went up and down on us four times. The Redskins were 0-4 against that division, and 1 win would have given us a home game.
