PSUskinsfan11 05-07-2004 02:22 PM

Right, I completely forgot. Now if we can just get SI to keep the 'Skins off the cover...

Let's see if Ray-Ray can break the dreaded Madden curse!

I knew about the SI curse, but didn't realize there was a Madden curse. What is it and who has gotten it?

Every time someone is on the cover of Madden, they get some horrible injury or just have an off year. Let's see, it was Vick last year, Faulk the year before that, Who the hell was 02? Someone help me out here...

SittingBull 05-07-2004 03:50 PM

Daunte Culpepper and Eddie George were before those two. Both of those players stats took a nosedive after their cover. They just used to put Maddens ugly mug on the cover before George.

With Ray Lewis on the cover we can now officially say that he will be found guilty =X

Skins fan 44 05-07-2004 03:51 PM

Darn why couldnt McNabb and TO be on it together?

Thanks!

Mrs. JoeRedskin will be VERY happy with this news. She HATES R. Lewis w/ a passion approached only by her hatred of Spurrier for releasing Davis.

It is so funny to watch her reactions to football. This is a woman who took a field mouse she found in our kitchen to the vet so that it could be put to sleep b/c it had a broken foot. Yet, let Ray Lewis show up in a game and she will be screaming at the TV "HIT HIM, BREAK HIS LEGS! KILL THE THUG" and mean it.

kingerock 05-07-2004 06:04 PM

lol!!! that's funny about your wife JoeRedskin. I thought I posted the news about Ray Lewis awhile back, but must have not. I got the "inside track" on alot of Madden news as I test for EASO (EA Sports Online) each year. I'm sure you all know about it being on Xbox Live by now too.

saden1 05-07-2004 07:14 PM

Honestly though, what accomplishments did Ray have last year to put him on the cover of anything? I'm guessing Jamal Lewis who is more deserving of the two said no thanks to EA.

hi-jinx 05-07-2004 07:26 PM

I don't think EA wants someone who has been arrrested by the Feds for cocaine trafficking. What if the guy gets 20 years? Talk about a cover jinx.
Plus I don't think too many parents would be happy about that.

MTK 05-07-2004 10:39 PM

I think the reason for him being on the cover has to do with the new hit stick feature and a new emphasis on defense for the game in general. What better guy to put on the cover then the best defender in the game?

Not sure that really applies - after all wasn't Lewis linked with a murder a couple of years back?....

hi-jinx 05-08-2004 05:00 AM

Yeah but this could carry real time if found guilty and is currently going on. Plus parents think drugs are worse then nuclear weapons. Ray Lewis only got some probation 4 or 5 years ago. Since then he was on a superbowl winning team, a bunch of probowls, and was MVP of the superbowl. The public has a short memory most people dont remember his legal problems if for no other reason than it didn't go to trial. His Q-factor is much higher than Jamal Lewis.

jthor99 05-09-2004 04:33 PM

i just hate ravens fans in general if they win they think they have the best team that has ever walked the face of earth, and if they lose its always the officals fault. ( i guess they forgot that the officals gave them an extra timeout in the seattle game) so i hope ray ray gets hurt and the ravens fans suffer all season while portis runs all over them
