Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
Some of the ugliest offense ever. Is the Bucs D that good? All the same, the O looked like last year. We better do MUCH better next week. BUT..........
WE WON!!!! HTTR!!!!! :towel: :towel: :towel: |

Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
I don't care how ugly it was, a win is a win is a win.
This was a classic defensive battle. |
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
Man was that ugly!!!! A win is a win but we can't play like that the next 2 weeks and expect to be in the big show!!!
Offense was totally shut down. What was up with Clinton being out a few series? And what did Taylor do? If he really spit at the guy that is Marcus Vick kind of stuff an Joe will not let that fly. None the less a terrific win. We held on to fight another day. Next week lets see som "O" to go with the awesome "D" |

I dunno if Taylor spit or not, but I still think it's BS that he got tossed. Overcoming crap like that and holding on to win is key. HAIL to the Redskins!!

If he did, I agree he should have been kicked out automatically. However, I dont know that he did. In addition, that should have defintley been offsetting penalties because the other guy shouldnt have hit him. (I mean if Taylor did do that (and remember he was accussed of same thing last year), I dont blame Pittman for throwing the punch, but he should still be pentaliezed.) |

It´s 01:51 AM here and I´m going crazy here... I´m not a little tired....
HAIL TO THE SKINS!!!! ARUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH |
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
How do you spit at a guy without moving your head? Give him a medal for that! Seriously though, it's effed up IF he did. But again, without the head motion, I don't think so.

You can see his head move a bit, the ref was right there so it's obvious he saw something. I still think they should have called Pittman too for throwing a punch, but oh well. ST needs to keep his head in the game. |

Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
What a game. One of the most emotionally draining games I've ever watched-- right there with the Dallas game earlier this year-- but just like that game, I'm riding an emotional high now, thanks to the only stat that matters: winning the game.
Hope Springs is back for the Seattle game. This team can definitely beat Seattle. They've done it before, they'll do it again. |
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
I honestly think ST was just talking crap, and spittle flew. Not him spitting on the guy, but just some saliva flying. Again, I don't know, but that's my take.

I think he might have an extra incentive to play against the team that let him go. We'll need him if Taylor is suspended. |

Yeah it was ugly, but HAIL TO THE REDSKINS ..... ON TO SEATTLE
|
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
Great win .
just about had a corinary when taylor was ejected though |
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
I understand we're probably going to spend this entire week wringing our hands over how poorly the offense played, but for a second let's put into perspective what we just did.
To go on the road in the playoffs and come away with a win against the league's #1 rated defense is definitely something to be very proud of. I'm holding my head very high today, and we all should. A month ago who even thought we would be in this position?? It's the playoffs, anything is possible!! On to Seattle for the upset special!! |
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
For you youngsters, I think that Sean Taylor needs to employ the "Dexter Manley" defense.
It wasn't "spitting", he "sneezed":yeahright |
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
It is beyond ridiculous to throw a penalty on Taylor and not one on Pittman. I agree had he spit in my face I would have thrown down but that doesn't mean you don't call a penalty. And the ejection? Carey ought to be suspended for a year for ejecting a player for something he can't prove happened plus shouldn't be ejection worthy anyways. What a double standard some guys in this league get. Clealy Taylor is one getting double standarded(nice new word there huh?).
|
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
Don't forget this isn't the first time Taylor has spat on an opponent, ask T.J. Houshmanzadeh.
|
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
At least Taylor didn't bang his head against a wall or something crazy like that.

ABC said the ejection was by rule for spitting - Carey didn't have a choice if he called unsportsmanlike for Taylor spitting on Pittman. Nonetheless, he should have called an offsetting unsportsmanlike on Pittman for slapping Taylor. That's BS. |
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
They said after the game he wont be suspended for it but will be fined for it. Micheal"the Coke head" Irving was hatin on us sayin he should be suspended for next weeks game. He's just mad cause he was the only one that picked the Bucs to win.

Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
Hey guys I feel good that the skins won but, not great like I should. I don't like the fact that the win was tainted with controversy. I felt that the buc receiver caught that ball in the end-zone while having possesion and both feet down, then his knee went down while still having control. That call may have been our make-up call from the last time these teams met, but I doubt it. It just takes away from our chance to share in a little "revenge" or "just desserts" when our team wins like that. Our offense was terrible, and our defense gets all of the credit for this win. Hopefully Gibbs will have new and innovative was for the offense to play like a like an offense that is in the playoffs. This team deserved a win but, not this type of win. Go skins!

There are no 'buts' following a playoff win. Just enjoy it. |

[QUOTE=Mattyk72]There are no 'buts' following a playoff win.

The more I think about the win, the more proud I am we won in spite of that we only got 122 yards of offense. You have to have a decent team to win despite those stats. We're the opposite of that Rams team that had no defense a few years back, but could score at will. |
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
They said this was the worst offensive performance by a winning team in the playoffs since the Ravens exactly five years ago to the day, and all I could think was...well the Ravens won the Super Bowl that year
|
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
It was awesome what I could at work and it was pretty sweet to wind up checking in on the game at key moments like lavars int and then portis's td run, the fumble for a td, and the game clinching int by mr. washington.
with my peice of crap vcr letting me down, does anyone know if they might reshow the entire game on another channel sometime this week? :httr: :httr: :point: :point: :towel: :towel: :woot: :woot: :httr: :httr: |
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
It was not technically by the rules a catch. I think again the officiating was stellar for a playoff game. The call went our way. Embrace it and enjoy!!!!!

I'm fully expecting to hear from the Skins-haters at work about how the Skins set the record for fewest yards by a winning team, blah, blah, blah... My response to that? "Scoreboard." Looks like I'll be sporting the burgundy and gold at work for another week. The Redskins have really simplified my wardrobe choices for the past six weeks. Lovin' it! |
Re: Official Wildcard Celebration Thread
I don't know what some of these people thinking it was a td saw cuz every single replay showed the ball was shifting around all the way to the ground while being tackled before it completely popped out of his control. When catching a pass in the endzone the player must have full control of the ball and then must maintain possesion of the ball while being tackled and he didn't do either of those things. If the jerseys had been swapped I would not be mad about the call but I sure as hell would be mad about the wr dropping the tieing td. the only replay I thought might actually go the other way from what I saw was the fumble recovery for the td cuz I thought marcus had been touched down recovering the ball at the spot of the fumble but I only got to watch it replayed once before going back to work.

NFL Network will probably be showing it, if you have digital cable. Otherwise, there are a few folks here who might be able to help you out. |
