This shouldn't be a big deal, but no doubt it will be touted as such simply because he's still an active NBA player. I hope he's received the same inside NBA locker rooms, although homophobia is obviously still an issue.

Good for him. Hope it doesn't harm his career, but I'd say his stint with the wizards probably already did that.

Good for him, I'm with wallace on the females part but I would never hate anyone that's gay, if your happy with someone that's the same sex as u then u shouldn't have to hide it. It's 2013 not 1913. I bet you'll see more come out sooner rather than later.

Entertainment, sports, media- they all reflect (and often spur) benchmarks of social progress. And that affects everyone- especially future generations.

Not a big deal to me. If he can play he can play.

Honestly though, I wouldn't want him on The wizards next year for the same reason I wouldn't want tebow on the skins. Media is going to be crazy with him unless more players come out following this announcement. I glad for him personally that this weight has been lifted and hope he can get endorsements out of it, but it might end his career.
