Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
To me it looks like a generic logo from Madden when you move your franchise to another city. But either way I think a NFL team should do better.
Like a plain blue star or the letter G or the letters NY? Now that's generic. |
Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
The thing about a logo is you want it to stick out, like the Redskins logo did, Dallas , GB Etc. When you saw our old logo, everyone knew who it was. I'm talking about the avg sports fan that doesn't watch football 24/7

Sorry but this will always be a top 10 LOGO in any sport |

Everyone knows those logos because they've been around forever. |

You're really comparing iconic logos like the Cowboys or Packers to that San Antonio one lol? If you like it that's great, personally I hope ours ends up looking better than that. |

Yeah but even the younger generation knows the cowboys star.. |

As I think about it they are iconic because they are generic. When it comes to a logo generic and plain is better. The problem with the SA logo isn't that its generic, the problem is its too busy. There's too much going on and the logo looks "forced". |

Of course they do, its been around for decades. |

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
I was thinking about this last night, ultimately what's more important the new name or the new logo?
Seems to me a cool new name could be ruined by a shitty logo. But a lame name could be saved by a really cool logo. Hopefully they'll hit a HR with both, but if you could only have one what would you want? A great name or a great logo? |

"Go Team" isn't as powerful as "go pack go". Likewise a cluttered logo (like the San Antonio one) doesn't build that deep link, to many strings pulled at once without a real focal point. What I can say though is that a very good logo would help me get on board with a name I don't like. |

Like putting makeup on a pig. There is no reason the name AND logo shouldn't be a winner. Especially if they have devoted the time, energy and money to the selection as they imply they have.
