SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 05:38 PM

They went back and showed teh highlight real for Taylor. Did anyone else think that Taylor didnt look to excited when he found out?

Cush 04-24-2004 05:39 PM

Bengals take Chris Perry, RB, Michigan

hi-jinx 04-24-2004 05:39 PM
Don't you think Tags would be obligated to release the info ASAP? Perhaps there were other deals in the works? I don't feel too bad for Taylor.
Not really, neither team had a pick for 3 hours. What difference would 5 min. have made?

Dave Butz Baby! 04-24-2004 05:39 PM

Man.. Chris Perry over Kevin Jones to the Bengles.

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 05:41 PM

very surprising pick. I dont think they made their team better with that pick. They could have picked up a player at a position of need. If anything now they have a running back controversy.

cpayne5 04-24-2004 05:43 PM

IMO, KJones is a better complement to Rudi Johnson than Perry.

EEich 04-24-2004 05:43 PM
Not really, neither team had a pick for 3 hours. What difference would 5 min. have made?
I'm thinking that other teams that thought they still had the opportunity to work some deal to get Eli should be aware that he was traded... allowing them to concentrate their efforts elsewhere.

hi-jinx 04-24-2004 05:44 PM

They have a ton of picks to address other issues but I agree. I dont see where RB was a need for them. Unless they see the upside of Perry really high and figured they could take a chance or they think one of them is a good 3rd down back?

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 05:45 PM

They must have been targeting him and just moved down to pick up some picks because they knew he would still be there. Hell Jackson was available when their pick came up, why didnt they just take them.

cpayne5 04-24-2004 05:49 PM

It's been an odd draft day thus far.

Cush 04-24-2004 05:52 PM

Titans trade the pick to Houston

Houston takes Jason Babin, DE, Western Michigan

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 05:53 PM

Hm, another weird pick... I thought the Titans were going to pick Troupe or Jones.

cpayne5 04-24-2004 05:54 PM
Hm, another weird pick... I thought the Titans were going to pick Troupe or Jones.
Kearse is gone, remember.

cpayne5 04-24-2004 05:55 PM

I thought Troupe or Jones was the targets too, though.

cpayne5 04-24-2004 05:56 PM

Man I wish we had a 2nd rounder, there's some good players still available.

Cush 04-24-2004 05:58 PM

Houston gave up a lot: Titans get: Texas' second-round pick (No. 40), third-round pick (No. 71), fourth-round pick (No. 103) and fifth-round pick (No. 138).

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 05:58 PM

Yea I wasnt thinking about Kearse, but they kept saying they liked the players that they had.A second round pick would be nice, there are still a bunch of great playesr. Id like to see us get some picks. Troupe, Watson, Starks...I know they arent Canes but they are playesr that could step in and help us. Gibbs hinted he had somethigns in the works, I wonder if they tried and it just fell through.

cpayne5 04-24-2004 06:01 PM

It may still be in the works. (depending on who's available, and when the pick they're trying to obtain is.) :)

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 06:02 PM

what did the Texans give up to make the pick?

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 06:03 PM

a few teams now have made multiple picks this round, I was really hoping for Wilfork with the 21st pick, oh well. At this point if we get a pick id like to think we dotn have to give up a first from next year. Its kidna late for that I think. Of course there is still some legitimate first round talent out there.

Cush 04-24-2004 06:04 PM

Carolina takes Gamble, CB Ohio State

Traded with San Fran (gets 31st, and 127th picks)

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 06:07 PM

I think that was a bad pick for Caroline, I dont think he will be a great corner. Im not sure what else I would have picked for them, their team is pretty good. Mabye a receiver.

Dave Butz Baby! 04-24-2004 06:09 PM

Next Worthless Suggestion for the FO

Trade Gardner to the Colts and Draft Troupe!

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 06:12 PM

Id do it but I dont see them doing it. They have Harrison, and Reggie Wayne, and the other guy that came up huge in the playoffs.

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 06:13 PM

that and the Colts need a late first round rookie with a small contrat. They just gave Manning 100million, and Edgerin James and Harrison are due for contracts next year. Unless they somehow think that Gardner could be Harrisons replacement since he is getting old, but I doubt that.

SmootSmack 04-24-2004 06:13 PM

Falcons trade with Colts, Falcons on the board

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 06:15 PM

what about trading Chris Samuels for the Chargers 2nd this year and their first next year. They want a tackle, and we would get an extra first for next year. They do have two first for next year...what do you guys think

Cush 04-24-2004 06:16 PM

Falcons take Mike Jenkins, WR, Ohio State

EEich 04-24-2004 06:17 PM

And who plays OT then? The idea of trading Samuels was great when Gallery was on the board.

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 06:20 PM

Whiney could learn the position with Bugel, expecially since he dosent play the blindside with Brunell.

Cush 04-24-2004 06:22 PM

KC trades the pick to Detroit

Man, Can't Washington do something?

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 06:22 PM

looks like the Lions are looking to get Kevin Jones here, their offense might have just gotten stacked..and we play them this year. But we'll have Taylor back there.

EEich 04-24-2004 06:23 PM

No thanks. Whiney is a good backup...filled in great...not a starter though.

Dave Butz Baby! 04-24-2004 06:23 PM

I really like what Atlanta has done so far. Now with the Lions trading for the Chief's upcoming pick, they could end up with Roy Williams and Kevin Jones.

Yikes.

hi-jinx 04-24-2004 06:24 PM

I really would have liked to move Sameuls as well that cap hit is just ugly, plus I cant see him resigning at any point because of the bad blood with his agent.

Sheriff Gonna Getcha 04-24-2004 06:26 PM

I'd like to give next year's 1st and say a 4th rounder for NE's 32nd pick to get Troupe.

Cush 04-24-2004 06:26 PM

Lions take Kevin Jones

Dave Butz Baby! 04-24-2004 06:27 PM

Lions get an A+ so far.

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 06:28 PM
I'd like to give next year's 1st and say a 4th rounder for NE's 32nd pick to get Troupe.
I dont know if we should give the first for next year. That seems liek to much right now, expecially for the last pick. But I would like to have Troupe.

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 06:29 PM

Harrington, Rogers, WIlliams and Jones...They just built their offense
