Its not my grill. I live by the pool in my complex and the pool area has 4 grills. Haven't used them yet, so hopefully at least 1 of them is reasonably clean and works well. Fingers crossed. Can't fit a grill on my patio with the other stuff I have, and its screened in, so I will be at the mercy of the pool grills working right for at lest the next 12 months. |

Gas. I don't think apartment complexes are allowed to have charcoal grills. |
Re: Food Vices
Charcoal is the worst. Nothing like chunks of carcinogenic particulates on your burger or steak. Yum.

Im Weber Kettle grill all day. Grilled a bunch already. Just burgers, steaks, nothing next level yet. Family did a no electronics from 10 am to 10 pm so we cooked eggs in a skillet on the grill, heated up water in a kettle for coffee and tea, steaks, potatoes etc .. pretty cool. Until it got dark and all the neighborhood kids came over and started running all around the house with burning candles. That got old real quick. |
Re: Food Vices
Wheat thins and cream cheese. I was desperate for a snack one night, and it came to this. That was surprisingly good.
Note - I am not a bagel person, so I really don't ever use cream cheese. |
Re: Food Vices
I really miss having a grill, can't have one in my bachelor pad living situation right now. Once I'm in my own place again I'm going big with a Traeger.

My oldest brother is a big food guy, cooks amazing stuff, has a smoker, all types of grills etc He was living in a condo type deal with a balcony, balconies above him, no gas or coal grills. He bought an affordable electric grill and used wood chips and he was grilling foods just fine. No issues. just an idea. not bad to have an electric grill anyway just in case. |

IMO, I love charcoal but for the Mrs she has to have gas(it's just easier). this is what we have. |

fuck
I call it being house poor. I tell my wife we should have looked into a condo instead. Own the property but have maintenance and water all taken care of, The idea of something breaking me calling maintenance going to work and it is fixed when I return is highly appealing. Now I either save money and spend 5 hours doing a job or pay someone else to do it in an hour and half to do while I miss work. |

Real men grill all year long. ;) Hell in SC so you shouldn't have an issue grilling all year. Nothing better then drinking beer and grilling in snow. |
Re: Food Vices
I suddenly have a hankering for a hamburger.
I used to hate blue-cheese when I was younger, now that might be my favorite item to put on a burger. |

The 1st time I didn't like it. But I've had it 2 or 3 times since then (different location/state than the 1st time), and the meat combo is pretty damn good for the price imo. It's not premium or anything, its probably closer to Domino's than your favorite local place. |

Re: Food Vices
In honor of Punch, I went with a Margherita Pizza for lunch/dinner.
Never has this before. It has cheese, so I'm not sure it qualifies as vegan, but it's at least vegetarian. |

I tried to order from Grimaldi's, but UberEats canceled my order (without notice). So I guess no pizza lol. Edit - Deciding not to be lazy and am going to go pick-up Tony's Detroit Style Pizza. Never had it, haven't even had this type pizza more than a couple times. |

Does anyone have an air fryer?
I want to buy one of those Emeril Lagasse air fryers I see all the time on TV. But also don't want to be duped by an infomercial. |

Re: Food Vices
Just figured out I've been cooking bacon the wrong way my whole life. I recently discovered boiling it is the way to go. Just a thin layer of water in the pan, bring it to a boil and let the water simmer off. The fat renders off in the water so it's no mess and the bacon comes out perfect.

Never heard of that way. Interesting. I cook mine in the oven, but I use a grate, so it's raised above the pan and the fat just drips off below to be tossed. |
Do you have to flip it?
once the water boils off you want to flip it to crisp it up on both sides |
Re: Food Vices
i have done the boiling it does come out good, but if you got an army of sleepover kids the best bet is the oven. One batch crispy and done.

This is the way..especially with the thick cut which is my go too. Let me also tell you the best bacon on the market: |
