Synder will allow Portis to say whatever he wants. Portis has equal power as if (or not more) than the Head Coach and he knows it. Memo to Future HC's Portis is the wrong person to piss off on the Redskins
So if your boss decided to demote you for a little while, you wouldn't wanna know why he thought you weren't good enough? Because from your logic, you should willingly just sit there and take it.
In truth non of us know what really transpired beyond what we saw in the game, or heard in the int's afterward (and that stuff is generally sterilized). I suspect JZ is guilty of non-communication, which may have been his way of putting CP in his place? I don't know.
HOWEVER, what is definately not "hoyle" is calling out anything or anybody regarding the team in the public. Never is that ok. that makes you T.O. ish, Ocho Cinco........not good form Clinton

Ok so while your being demoted and the boss has not come to you about why he demoted you or even spoken to you as to why he gave your job to someone who you beat out for the job and then goes on TV and says "well, he wasn't in the meetings, and we felt the other guy would provide us with the best result." Knowing full well you were at all the meetings just were not able to participate for what ever reason medically you would not have a problem with it? and lets say while your ticked off about it the media walks up to you and says "hey how do you feel about your boss saying this about you" your going to react.

As much as Portis was wrong for airing his feelings....so was Zorn. If your going to say Portis shut your trap then you have to tell the coach the same thing cause he's doing the same thing.

Re: Clinton Portis on the JT Show

Bottom line anyone that thinks it is ok for Portis to do what he did should never come down on TO or Ocho for the stuff they do either. Portis was being petty and acting just like those guys do. Like I said before, if this was TO doing this I bet almost everyone here would be calling him a whiner and loser and saying how glad they are he isn't a Redskin. Players should never do crap like that. If you have a problem then go to the coaches or the FO, but don't get whining and complaining to the media.

Unless I missed something, what was it that Zorn said about Portis that was derogatory?

I disagree. The Coach is your boss. He can say what he wants. You are getting paid to play and if you don't like it then quit. If you can't handle it, then find a different occupation. And I still don't see what Zorn said in the statement above that was so bad.

And how do you know that Portis was in all the meetings? Because Portis says so?

All i thought was that Zorn was stating the facts. Portis needs to stop acting like a deprived diva
Terrible analogy. I know what you mean but terrible analogy.

Teacher: "Why'd you skip school yesterday?"

Student: "I didn't skip school, I came to school check with attendance."

but in all acutality they skipped the class hanging out in lunch. lol.

It's all a play on word. Just like Lawyers. lol. but there needs to be communication. The coach needs to inform the players of his intentions. Then not go on Tv and blame or name or throw under the bus players for their performance. Good coach's in my opinion are the ones that don't do that and point out that the team did not perform. If Zorn wants to keep using the "Execution" word fine but be vague as to who's not executing. Simply say the play didn't go as I planned it. Point out what the end result of the play was supposed to be and move on.
I thought it was a fine analogy, but how about this one...

Two kids go to a math class. Teacher goes over problems on the board and then gives out some practice problems to do in class. One kid works them through, making mistakes and making his corrections till he gets them all, the other kid says "that's easy, I'll just skip it". Then the teacher gives a pop quiz with a very short time limit and the exact problems that were on the practice work.

Who do you think has the most success on the pop quiz?

Sometimes there is no substitue for "hands on".

Well it's The John Thompson Show. CP comes on every week and on more than one occasion airs dirty laundry.

^^^ yeah im starting to wish Cp wouldnt go on the JT show anymore. he always talks himself into trouble.

in '06 did he bash gibbs on the same leadership & communications issues on JT's show?

did he throw the oline under the bus on the JT show earlier this year?

obviously he had his blow up with b mitch on the show, that one i know for certain.

now he bashes zorn for leadership and communication issues on the JT show.

water under the bridge really, just portis playing to that underappreciated "i think im the best rb in the league" persona he has as others have said here.

when TO tries to play offensive coordinator in the media hes a team cancer, when Cp does it hes just telling it like it is . . . portis isnt paid to be a PR rep for the skins, hes paid to run a pig skin into a bunch of pissed off psychos. lol we have soo much drama when a losing streak hits.

He can say what he wants, but if he says it publicly about you and not to you....................that is wrong! And if that does happen to you, you should stick up for yourself! You shouldn't let yourself become a bitch! Stick up for yourself and say/ do something about it.

Maybe Portis could have handled it differently. Maybe he could have pulled that stunt Greg Vaughn pulled in Major League when he thought he was cut! He kept it in the lockerroom! :)

Hey! Maybe Zorn should have handled it differently too. In fact, I know he should have! The last thing you want to do, when your dumbass puts a back up center out there to block Terrell Suggs one-on-one, is blame someone else about something else! And then wonder why your best player is pissed off.........................

Re: Clinton Portis on the JT Show

I mean, I have to point out that Portis missed at least two blocks against the Giants that could have turned the game around in our favor, so when Zorn says that he felt Betts was better prepared against the Ravens, I'm inclined to believe him.

Why is it that whenever anyone tries to trust Ladell Betts, people on both the inside and the outside get really pissed off?

GTripp0012 12-10-2008 04:21 PM

Re: Clinton Portis on the JT Show

Portis is also implying, I think, that Zorn's protection schemes are too numerous and complicated. Which is fine for him to think that, but that's kinda evidence to support Zorn's reasoning for keeping Portis out of the game when all the Skins were going to do was throw. Because if Portis thinks that Zorn's schemes are unnecessarily complicated, that probably does mean that Betts has a better understanding of them.

What did Zorn say about Portis that was so bad that warranted what Portis did? He was asked why Portis didn't play in the second half and he answered honestly. He didn't go out of his way to say anything about Portis and what he said was the truth according to him. The fact was that they were down 17-0 and he felt maybe Betts was better prepared since Betts had actually practiced all week with the first team offense and attended all the meetings. Sorry but that doesn't warrant a personal attack by Portis. If he can't handle that reply from Zorn then he sure couldn't play for Cowher who people here seem to be so high on and who would not put up with his egocentric attitude. He would be riding the pine this week if he had pulled that with Cowher.
