I don't think the game has passed JG by but I think he isn't man enough to admit a mistake with Mark B.
I hate to do it to you TAFKAS, but ..... Doug Williams >>>>> Mark Brunell
Well at that moment I'm not sure too many people really believed that DW was much more than a 32-year-old aging QB whose best years were quite possibly behind him.

The point is, this is not the first time that Gibbs has decided that the QB he intended to be the guy is quite simply not the guy. Not now at least. And it's one thing to say "hey I think Ramsey gives us the better option to win," but to declare the seaon disaster, call Gibbs a lying traitor, and wish death upon Brunell (not that you've done any of this Gmanc) before this all plays out...well that seems kind of silly to me.

We're cooked. Sorry, but I cannot envision Brunell leading us to anything but mediocrity at best and disaster at worst.
Gibbs hates Ramsey, nothing could be clearer. like LadyT said, he gave Brunell the entire important part of a season to show something, which he ruined, and he gave Ramsey three drives???

i dont like this one bit, it has to be something personal and i'm really surprised at Gibbs.
Ramsey replaced Brunell on week two. Or do you want to forget Ramsey's 3 INTs against the Giants. Every opportunity Ramsey has been given, he has squandered on his lonesome. He's an erratic mediocre second string QB at best. He'll never and I mean never be a top rated QB because of inconsistency. Reminds me of Chad Pennington more and more everyday.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. By default, the QB is a leader. However, I t hink on this team our leaders are Portis and the defense. So long as they play well I think we'll actually be ok

Gotta believe baby. He's a rubber armed toolbag but Gibbs wants to give it another shot. If he shits the bed we'll move in another direction. Football's dynamic, things change....before you became Ramseyfan you were a redskins fan. This really hurts any true skins fan because ramsey was put through hell but the boss speaks, and we gotta listen. I feel your pain my friend but we have to hope Gibbs knows whats up.

Are you standing behind Brunell?

Okay, I think everyone should just calm down.

Ramsey obviously wasn't cutting it. Personally, I think he made some great throws but for every stellar pass he threw downfield he really killed momentum with poor decision-making that lead to turnovers.

Gibbs knows that we have a great defense and a terrific running game. Ramsey just doesn't fit the scheme because of the turnovers.

I really think all the fans who are blasting Gibbs' decision here really need to take a xanax or smoke a joint, and calm down a bit.

so whats that make Brunell? when an erratic mediocre QB scored more and won more with the exact same team? or do you want to forget the last six games of the season.

I really have to disagree here.

Gibbs doesn't hate Ramsey and I really think this decision was not personal.

Gibbs doesn't like the penchant for turnovers and he trusts veterans. He has always been that way. Ramsey hasn't developed into the game manager that he needs to be - it is as simple as that.

Turnovers arent going to matter if we can't score points. With Brunell at the helm, he has yet to prove that we can score points. My beef with the situation has more to do with the overall scheme of the quarterback thats in, than the quarterback itself. Let me put it htis way, they both freaking suck right now. Bottom line. But Ramsey can at least get the ball downfeild and open up the game for Clinton Portis. I dont think that Brunell can. Right now, Clinton Portis is the only shot this team has of succeeding, in my opinion. I hope I'm wrong.

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Chad Pennington had six fumbles...guess Herm Edwards should bench for the rest of the season and bring out the back-up. If there was to be a QB switch this season it should be to the future and Jason Campbell, if by week 6 or 8 and the Skins are out of it it is time to look to the future. Already one week and we have complete dissarray at the most important position on the offense and this is purely the fault of Joe Gibbs.

If Gibbs had no confidence in Ramsey he should have traded him the year we picked up Brunell or this offseason. To go all offseason and say that Ramsey was to be the starter only to yank him after a 1 1/4 quarters is ridiculuous. Yet another wasted first round pick, and we still don't know if had the talent to do the job...looks like Trent Green all over again to me.
I agree with a lot of your points - until the Trent Green reference.

I'm still irritated by that one because Trent Green (unlike Ramsey) actually had great numbers and really showed something. We lost him and turned around and traded a boat load of draft picks for Brad Johnson, who basically gave us two years.

I hate losing so many draft picks...

Hopefully we can recoup a 2nd rounder for Ramsey.

I have an enormous amount of respect for Gibbs, but, knowing that Ramsey's neck is fine, I disagree in a big way with his decision to start Brunell. Brunell threw for 70 yards in nearly three quarters of play. Granted, he didn't throw a pick, but he didn't exactly prove himself to be a different quarterback than he showed himself to be in 2004. Is anyone impressed with Brunell's play of 2004. Also, I'm sorry but I don't buy into "he had a bum ankle last year" argument. Brunell flat out stunk, wounded ankle or not.

you learned all that from the first 3 drives of the season huh? everyone just forgets last season, so did you base that on this pre-season? remember, Brunell had a great pre-season last year too.

There is no way that we will get a second round pick for Ramsey. My guess is that we will get a 4th round pick.
