Definitely: @BenStandig The Washington Commanders are hiring Larry Izzo as their special teams coordinator, per source. * Seattle's special teams coordinator since 2018 * 3-time SB champ as a player * Grew up in NoVa (Ashburn's Broad Run HS) |

They can't force teams with new coaches, but they can volunteer. |

Can’t be forced to, but it would be some nice positive publicity |

New OL coach
Tom Pelissaro The #Commanders are hiring veteran offensive line coach Bobby Johnson to coach their OL, per source.

Giants had allowed the second-most sacks (85) in NFL history this season.
|
New OL coach
Apparently he was with the Giants the last 2 years and was fired.... doesn't sound like an in demand candidate. Elsewhere on the coaching staff
John Keim Ryan Kerrigan will return as Washington’s assistant LBs coach/pass rush specialist per source
|
Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
and ....
Nicki Jhabvala Among those NOT returning, per sources: TEs coach Todd Storm, run game coordinator Juan Castillo, OL coach Travelle Wharton, senior defensive assistant/safeties coach Richard Rodgers.
|
Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
More . .
Nicki Jhabvala John Pagano is joining the Commanders as a senior defensive assistant, source confirmed. .@AllbrightNFL had it first, and noted that Pagano had interest from multiple teams
. |

The OL coach hire leaves a lot to be desired!

It absolutely makes no sense. Quinn went against this unit 2x's a year and dominated them. And as my son, the Giant's fan, says; they had a high round draft pick that made zero progress and actually regressed under his coaching. |
Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
This looks better...
Tom Pelissero Former #Raiders and #Seahawks defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. is joining the #Commanders as their linebackers coach, per sources. A former All-Pro LB, Norton most recently coached the position at UCLA. Now he reunites with former Seattle colleague Dan Quinn in Washington.
|
Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
Defensively the coaching staff is looking good, but on offense it is a bit of a head scratcher to say the least, obviously Quinn is tapping into his network of defensive coaches but what sort of offensive network does Kingsbury have?

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
Always liked Ken Norton. He was such a scrappy tough player.
