Soooo, how's the wife and kids? "Hey lookie here Billy, you have had a 2 year vacation......sooooo, how's about I send Redskin One, a sack O'cash, and maybe a piece of 6 flags your way, and you move to DC? How's that sound to you"?
Please tell me you didn't mean Bill Cowher. Remember, defense isn't the issue.

We want our offense to get better, not worse.
Yeah, I found myself asking the same thing today -- where the hell is Santana Moss? What, now the Rams are shutting him down?

Maybe he'll show up against the Lions....
When I looked at receivers similar to Moss at the end of last season, I found that a lot of them dropped off the face of the earth after they turned 30. Well, Moss is 29. At this point, he's still useful at commanding the defenses' best cover guy, but it's only a matter of time until the league figures out that he's in serious decline.

At which point, he won't be an every down receiver anymore. More of a 3rd WR/3rd down target. Another reason why Kelly's development is so critical.
I'm officially waiting on Mike Shanahan to come on in and fix this offense right away. He will completely change this offense into a scoring machine. I thought Zorn would be alright but he does not have a clue. It just make me wonder if Campbell is the problem with the offense. Maybe Campbell is not showing that he knows the playbook good enough to call certain plays. Just a guess! We have too much talent on both sides of the ball to be mediocre. We need to start a petition to get rid of Zorn and Blache. If I see our cornersback play 10 yards again on a 3rd and 5 again I will completely lose it.
This is the only legitimate coaching change that has a chance to work IMHO. I don't think any great coaches out there will work for Snyder; however Shanahan is a money man through and through and might do it for something ridiculous like $10 mil/year.

That said I think Zorn is toast regardless in the long run. He's an awful playcaller. Don't tell me he's great between the redzones because it's no more relevant in the NFL than what color socks players wear. Scoring is all that matters and Zorn has no idea how to create TDs. Sure our redzone execution was shitty between Sellers, Moss and maybe Thomas. It's Zorn's job to find a way.

...I think the answer is to put the ball in Jason's hands. I want him calling plays. I want him making adjustments at the LOS. I want him running the offense...he'll make the offense better. Keep Zorn or dump him and make Buges the interim HC...either way is fine as long as Jason runs the offense the way he wants.

Everything's going to be fine. We'll be better in the redzone as the season progresses. Reinhart will be an effective replacement for RT and will justify his 3rd rounder status. Moss will have some big games. Portis will get into a groove and will also still be fresh late in the year. JC will hit the long bomb. We'll work out the kinks in the O during this easy stretch of games, and come on strong in November this year, as opposed to ruling September and then fading. The D will get progressively more dominant as they get to know each other. We'll be fine.

Tired of all this. The glass is half full. Hang in there, folks.

You do realize that, post-Elway, Shanahan did not win all that much and his offenses often struggled, don't you?

Among my concerns, that have been mentioned here so I won't rehash them, is that Moss has become crap for some reason or...and I think this is more likely for some reason...he isn't giving it his all. It seems to me the only route he cares about running is a GD fly or skinny post. Rarely is he open on a shorter route and if he isn't open he seems to just give up quite easily. Maybe it is just the way we are using him but right now he's a complete doughnut for us. I think it is one of the big RZ issues in that he is getting covered one-on-one to easily.

Create scoring oppertunities.

Except: we're the Redskins and they are the Rams. Stop trying so damn hard. Your passing game will take care of it, I promise you.

Zorn strikes me as someone who overthinks everything and thus comes up with wrong answers sometimes. He needs to chill.

I think that the ARE pass at the beginning of the Giants game was an example of this. Zorn was thinking deeply and was trying to play mind games with the defense. Unfortunately his overthinking made him out of touch with reality.

All losing streaks end at some point. What better opponent for the lowly Lions than one that can't score?

Now, he's just being overt and yelling, "LOOK AT ALL THE TRICKS I CAN RUN." Not appealing.

I am starting to think that JC will be looking at a new offensive system soon.
All losing streaks end at some point. What better opponent for the lowly Lions than one that can't score?
Well, there's Brett Favre for one.

The Lions defense is more professional than last year, but the offense is worse and they don't have the pass rush to make the game changing plays.

I don't expect a team playing Chad Rinehart in his first career start to light up the scoreboard, but we're not a particularly ideal matchup for the Lions.

Part of the not being able to score problem is being ahead for most of the game. Less urgency. So it's not even a sign of futility really, it's just more of an annoying occurrence that leaves bad opponents in the game into the 4th quarter.
