You're right about the ProBowl. John Riggins has said more than once he always hoped not to get voted in. His logic being, why risk an injury on a useless game. Does anyone watch the thing? |
* - ? Cowboy? Why would you start the conversation by insulting me like that. You coulda called me Chief, Crazy Injun, Mook...but, Cowboy?
Ok, in all seriousness, I never said anything about where it took place. I don't think it really matters to me what state the offense takes place. It could be in a different country for all I care. I think my point is more about the abuse of people vs the abuse of animals & how we seemingly regard a dogs life over a persons. That's all. Virginia never even tip-toed across my mind.
Sorry. lol. I didn't think when using the "Cowboy" term. I totally agree with you. I miss understood you. I guess. I think we are kinda saying the same thing about how some people value animals more then humans. Unfortunatly those people will also say that humans have a choice and can leave on the other hand animals can't. My issue is the fact that people hold animals in such high regards as if it were their children and due to the fact that some can't have kids they buy animals to fill the gap and there in lies the problem. for some that is. Everytime I hear someone complain about how much their vet bill was to save said animal I laugh. I guess people think I'm crazy when I say I'd rather pay the $50.00 sleep medicine vs. paying out the butt to save my pets life. I even point out that a hunting accident only costs 25 cents. |

I feed them & care for them as anyone should for their pets. But I also see them as just that. Pets. Not miniature children or semi-humans. They are animals. Now, I can understand & do value the fact that they, especially dogs, love unconditionally & a person torturing said animals is betraying that love & trust & it is very sad & disturbing when someone like Vick does what he did. I think what he did was terrible. But like I said, this country's priorities are backwards when people say, with little conviction, they have no sympathy for a battered wife who's scared to leave her situation & is more likely to jump in front of a bus for a dog. "String him up" for beating a dog, but let a woman say, "He hit me...again" & she gets a "Well, you deserve it. You won't leave." There's something really wrong with that mentality. |
Re: The Vick Factor
What Vick did was horrible and there is absolutely no excuse for it, but he has paid his debt to society. What I see in our offense is a lack of playmakers. Moss is the only guy I feel like when he does get the ball he can take it to the house or the ability to make an exciting game changing play that gives confidence to the rest of the offense. Cooley and Portis are steady players who can get the first down when needed, they are reliable players. JC plays a little robotic but has big play ability if he would stop over thinking everything. Randle El was suppose to be the game changer, big play, unorthodox weapon of our offense and special teams...he makes a big play once a year, but really hasnt lived up to the hype. I say give Vick a one year deal. I would not trade a pick for him, but wait until he is released and sign to 1 year. Wildcat formation would be exciting to see. Taking swing out passes out of the backfield in space would be exciting to see. Taking reverses, double-reverses from the wideout position would be exciting to see. Getting a screen pass would be exciting to see. Seeing him throw the ball,....not that excited to see. I would NOT want him throwing the ball, but seeing him return a punt or getting the ball in space would be a shot to the offense that we lack. Deffenses would have to game plan for him. 5-10 touches a game, for one year, lets see what would happen.
I am not worried about the dog-fighting - as you said he did his time now move on. But I don't want him here as a player. We have a QB, we have a WR/QB in ARE, and we have RBs so, what position does he fill here?
He may go somewhere else and shine, and that would be great, but he would not do much to improve us, that i can see.
Okay. Is JC in the last year of his contract? Is ARE a full time QB? I honestly think we should cut him if we could and it wouldn't cost us any money. He would play QB. He could sit for one season behind Campbell. Then at theend of the season he should be in shape or before then. I think he would improve us dramatically. Because he can throw the long ball and he is a threat to run. So it causes defense to respect our offense. I am rooting for JC but it would be nice to have Vick as a back up this season...But as far as what position he plays. QB. After he gets back in shape. If Jason doesn't do his thing. We have Vick getting and getting ready to play. By the end of the season or next season. |

Yeah these people love animals more than humans. If they saw a bum on the street they probably would step over them. Social improvement? I love animals and I dont want to see them harmed. But if its a baby and a puppy about to fall of a bridge which one would you chose....How about this save a life of a child that is dieing somewhere in the world. |

Just because people are appalled at what Vick did doesn't in anyway mean they think animals are more important than humans. With the exception of PETA. |
Re: The Vick Factor
Vick is NOT the answer. He can run with the ball but never did much as a passer. 2 min in the game,we have to drive 80yds for a td to win. Do you honestly want Vick under center? There are a few good QB's becoming FA's at the end of the season -Rivers-and the draft will have some good ones possibly coming out-Bradford-. If we change id rather go that route than Vick.

Nobody was arguing Vick is the greatest passer, even in his prime he was not known to be a great passer but other skills allowed him to excel. This thread is about him coming to skins, so were comparing him to Campbell and Colt. Even then hes not a good fit. And yes i would rather have Vick under center with 2 min to go rather then Campbell, but no i don't want him with the skins. |

Thats what im sayin, he isnt better than what we already have so there is no need to bring that baggage to D.C |
Re: The Vick Factor
he would be A) cheap, and B) a viable option at backup. not to mention a decoy for this new wildcat craze that seems to be sweeping the NFL. Plus, with the geographic convenience for him, he may be more likely to sign here. I am by no means saying he is the next QB messiah for us, but really, would it hurt anything?

Re: The Vick Factor
Well, he can play but has blown his chances!

All i have heard the entire offseason is how our players dont know the offense, now you want to add another offense just to get ONE player on the field?? Im just sayin we dont need gimmicks, we need to be proficient in the WCO before we even think of adding another set to our offense. |
