Sadly I don't even think he could save this team. |
Re: Per Vinny Cerrato, JC is our QB this season!
Campbell hasn't been give much credit in my opinion. I still think he'll be a Pro Bowler. Let's see what happens after this year now that he'll have a second year to get comfortable in Zorn's system.
I don't want Cutler either. We'd probably overpay anyway like we did for CP. I thought Champ for CP was more than fair. Why'd we have to throw in a 2nd round pick?
To my understanding a West Coast offense requires a QB with quickness. JC does not have quickness. Also I hear about how many offenses JC has been in. He has trouble reading more than 1 or 2 recievers. My thoughts are timing is the issue with all the different offenses not reading receivers. I do not think this guy is going to pan out. Plus he has NO poise. |

I think he's more of a vertical passer than a West Coast QB. :laughing- |

Sometimes, I just wonder how people can watch the same show and see things so differently?

We're talking about Saved by the Bell again, right? |
Re: Per Vinny Cerrato, JC is our QB this season!
I call BS on any trade involving Cooley or Landry. When teams trade, the pro-rated signing bonus comes due immediately (unless there's some uncapped year thing I'm missing). Cooley would be an $ 11M cap hit this year and Landry would be a $ 7M hit this year. No way!
Jason Campbell and picks, possibly. If we could get Cutler, have him agree up front to a long term deal, and do it with Campbell and our 3rd, then fine but if not then pass. Cutler is an upgrade over Campbell, but not a huge one. |

And for the record Smoot, you think Jason is staying in DC this year OR hittin the road? Of course Cooley and LL are going nowhere. |
Re: Per Vinny Cerrato, JC is our QB this season!
The CAPT. #47 chimes in on this "trading shit storm" rumor....LMAO
The Official Blog of Chris Cooley: Trade? Get The Cooley Zone via RSS Wednesday, March 18, 2009 Trade? It is rumored that there is a possible trade in the works for angry Jay Cutler. There were a couple different internet possibilities. The first would be with the Broncos, including Cutler and Scheffler for Campbell and myself. Another was a three way trade between the Browns and in that scenario Campbell and I would go to Cleveland, Cutler/Scheffler would come here and the Broncos would get Brady Quinn, someone else and draft pick. Trade talk is a weird wake up at 6:30. Obviously something was said between teams to cause this internet trading shit storm. I would be pissed if I got my ass shipped to Cleveland. But seriously, when the internet is the first news I hear about something this big I would hope it to be speculation. Really, it could have been a couple owners bullshitting and joking around about guys and someone leaked it. No big deal. I would be blown away to hear anything more. It is nice to read extreme skins posts about not wanting me to go. Thanks! By the way, I do get to hang out with John Elway a little bit this weekend at the Dulles Sports Expo in Chantilly VA. I'm gonna bring a ball and ask him to smoke one for me. |

Of course Cooley and LL are going nowhere.
I think he's staying for 2009. And hopefully the team will realize they can win with and because of him. If it were me, I think I'd have already locked him up long-term. But I think he stays this year, maybe gets franchised next year, but 2011? Who knows |

Who knows
I don't think going for Cutler is a good course of action, but locking up Campbell long term before the '09 campaign isn't either. Jason's numbers are not bad by any means, but not so hot as to rush to sign him long term. 2009 is going to make or break Campbell as a Skin. If he excels then yeah sign him to a nice long term deal. Only significant improvement over his '08 performance is going to warrant any resigning after '09. What he showed me in '08 was that he still was a work in progress, which isn't a sign of a franchise QB. He needs a breakout year this season to win me over on resigning him at all. |

nope ... mainly the comment on JC's poise. I have never really seen that as his issue.
To my understanding a West Coast offense requires a QB with quickness.
