Agree. Not only Hall, but Doughty, M Williams, C Griffin, Gomes. The entire Secondary is crap. its just brutal to watch.
Griffin and Gomes have potential. Can't argue against you on the rest. Wilson ordinarily plays well. I thought the Steelers just ran the right routes that dissected our D, they just ran right to gaps in our zones, and where there was no coverage in the flat because the LB had rushed upfield or inside. That's a coaching issue.

Same crap, different year... Very difficult to watch today.

Re: Steelers 27 Skins 12 post game thread
Saw a few big issues here.
1) Secondary is terrible. 2) We have no pass rush -- manufactured through blitzes or from our rushers. 3) I know I'm going to be killed for this, but it's time to start rotating Feltcher out. He was a liability all day. He had one great play, and a lot of straight up bad ones. 4) Drops were terrible. I can see maybe 2-3 of them being at least partially on Griff. One was very smart, when Young was behind the line with Steelers around and he let it hit him and fall to the ground. Save clock/etc. 5) We had no urgency late. Tick Tock. Overall a bad day.
He's probably playing a little hurt but I do agree. He simply can't cover NFL TE's. |

The Skins are on pace to give up the most passing yards of all time. The issue is not the Steelers running the right routes. It's the fact that we have zero pass rush and zero talent in the secondary. Has nothing to do with the opponent. Anyone can dissect our Defense right now. |
All i got say is, the colts are 4-3 have less talent than the skins and have an interim coach at the helm. What's the Redskins excuse?
Redskins have been playing winning record teams. Colts, not so much. |
Re: Steelers 27 Skins 12 post game thread
The rookie phenom might not have RGIII but has a couple come from behind wibs and is also a rookie. My point is the skins have more talent yet can't seem to win the games they should.
The skins have been in every game this year with the exception of this one. The only game I had them winning that they didn't so far is agains STL...a tough loss Here are their losses Lost at Pittsburg Lost at NYG Lost vs the undefeated Falcons Lost a close one to Bengals (a playoff team last year) Lost by 3 at STL You really had them winning most of those games? The fact is, this team is better on offense, worse on defense. Pick your poison. You don't go after a guy like RGIII, surround him with a few weapons, and in the same year expect to improve your defense...with all the injuries (suspension) we have had I am not the least bit surprised that our D is as bad as it has been. The skins will be lucky to end up .500 when it is all said and done, and that is about where most "experts" expected this team to be. I thought they had a chance to surprise some if they were able to stay healthy, but that is not the case. All in all, I guess my point is I think they are about where they should be given the totality of circumstances dealt to them this season thus far. |
Re: Steelers 27 Skins 12 post game thread
Maybe Hurricane Sandy can blow the funk off this team...

its C Griffin last stop before retirement. he's not good |
Re: Steelers 27 Skins 12 post game thread
griffin has potential?
Cedric. I know he's 29, but I think he's improving.
Though at this point, sure put RGIII at corner. Shades of Sammy Baugh.* *nononononono really late edit: OK guys, poor word choice on my part and over optimism on Griffin. I thought Griffin played better the past couple games and played with fire without going off like Hall did, but silly to say a 29 yr old vet has "potential". |

Playing and beating are two totally different things. We beat Minnesota - tampa - and the Saints. Only Minn has a winning record and we caught them in their downward spiral. Indy beat the Pack and Minn when they were hot. They also beat Tennessee who beat Pitt. We lost to the Rams and Bengals who have losing records also. Indy is a winning team rite now. We are not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That argument means nothing. Redskins beat the Vikings who beat the 49ers, so therefore the Redskins are better than the 49ers, and therefore the Redskins are better than the Packers, who beat the Texans who beat the Ravens who beat the Patriots so therefore the Redskins are the second best team in the NFL (the Falcons being first). |
