Isn't it a little too early for that in the year? |

Oh there will be worse. |
Re: Who Can Lead This Team?
Davis is not on the field for more than 2 snaps in the highlight reel alone. And the ones where he is on the field they leave him in to max protect. That's not the Cowboys taking him out of the game. That's us taking him out of the game.
Went back to the game, play by play. You're very right.
I think this needs an explanation then. Seems like a sub optimal use of personnel. |

I'm gonna take a stab at it and guess they kept him in to block because they assume the offensive line would need help blocking the Cowboys great pass rush? |

If you needed a pass blocker why not use Cooley, or Sellers, or Paulsen in a similar role. All of those guys are adept pass blockers, and wouldn't detract from our passing game. |
Re: Who Can Lead This Team?
Perhaps, just perhaps, the coaches are not yet comfortable with Davis as a "reliable" weapon. We've heard how much he has grown and he has certainly made big plays. BUT, it may simply be a situation where the Shanny's want to make sure he doesn't backslide. I think it is clear with this coaching staff is that trust has to be earned. So perhaps as the season progresses, we see more and more of Davis as the coaches become convincced he can be relied upon through good and bad.

I don't believe hamstringing a player with a hot hand, that being, 5 rec for 105 against the Giants, and 6 rec for 86 and a TD against the Cardinals, is going to promote better production. If anything it would cause a level of distrust from the players perspective, because he's not being utilized properly in the system. Forcing a backslide to prevent a backslide doesn't really make too much sense. |
