FLETCHER DEAL NOT DONE?

Although there are rampant rumors that the Washington Redskins have reached a deal with Bills middle linebacker London Fletcher, a source close to Fletcher says that a final decision has not been made.

The Redskins, Patriots, Lions, and Bills are interested in Fletcher, and the source says that the Bills currently are the favorites to land London, with the Redskins at No.2 on the list.

Ideally, however, the Bills should have the exclusive ability to negotiate with Fletcher until Friday. But that's simply not how it works in the NFL anymore; virtually every team violates the prohibition on tampering when the time comes to talk to pending free agents. Indeed, we're not aware of a single team that doesn't get an early start on chatting with players who technically are the property of others.

Is Fletcher coming to DC?

I hate to break this to everyone but the bottom line is that Lemar Marshall is not what you are claiming he is. If he was, they wouldn't have a deal in place with a free agent MLB a week before free agency starts. You can argue with me all day long but I am correct on this one. Don't get upset when he is behind Rocky next year either. The only way that I see Marshall starting is if Washington takes longer to return.

.
you could be right but like you said earlier, me and you will just have to agree to disagree. it's just two different opinions of how good or not good lemar marshall is.
You guys are dealing with semantics. All I know is a week before free agency they essentially have a deal completed with a middle linebacker. Not a D end and not a D tackle. What Snyder wants, he gets immediately and he wants Fletcher.
We're not dealing with semantics. You said that MLB was our #1 priority and some of us disagreed and said that MLB was our FA #1 priority. There's a difference. And while I do not doubt that we will get Fletcher, I highly doubt the reports from the world's most credible news agency, Profootballtalk.com, that we already have a deal in place with Fletcher. If Gibbs & Co. were dumb enough to tamper with another team's player by reaching contract terms with them prior ot the start of FA, they wouldn't be SO dumb as to tell PFT.

The only thing people have been saying is that Marshall is not as bad as you have been claiming. I simply don't know how you can say that Rocky is better than Marshall, without having seen Rocky take more than 4 quarters of snaps on defense in professional football. I know that you attribute Rocky's lack of playing time to some personal animus a coach has towards Rocky, but I don't know how you can say that without having seen him on the field. In any event, I wouldn't care who started ahead of whom next season (Rocky over Marshall or vice-versa), I trust that coaches start the best player.

You trust the coaches more than I do but I do believe this is the "make or break year" for all of them. G-dub will leave his ego at the door and start the best players.

I totally agree with the guy who said that Washington, Fletcher, Rocky and Lemar is a good linebacking corps. If they get Fletcher they turn an obvious hole into a strength (until someone goes down, of course).

I've got to. If I didn't trust them, I would have lost all hope and killed myself by now. It's definately a "make or break" year for them....I'm betting on "make."

I think he means what's that about spending $2,000 on a computer?

And just for the record, I think they split the argument.

I didn't know that people kept score. I certainly wasn't upset with Grim or trying to own him and I hope that he wasn't upset with me or trying to own me.

Yeah, I got tired of watching "reality tv" so I tune into "reality web forum" now for the drama. My friends and I pick certain posters to root for (and against). Sadly, I'm anxiously awaiting the episode when Denim Monger comes back. The offiss/Matty episodes are classic and we watch those over and over again. Nothing, however, compares to the kidwell scenes. It was refreshing to learn that the new guy, EARTHQUAKE, was not kidwell incarnate. Nice that the producers didn't resort to played out scripts.

Looks like if we get him its going to cost a lot.I don't know if i want him after reading this article.
If anyone deserves a hefty raise this offseason, it's LB Fletcher
Someone is going to make a bundle in this year's free-agency, and here's hoping it's someone like London Fletcher.
London Fletcher has been his team's leading tackler the last eight seasons. (Getty Images) The Buffalo Bills linebacker is more than one of the game's high-character guys. He's one of its most productive ones, too. He led the Bills in tackles last season. He led the team in tackles the season before that. And the season before that. Heck, he led his team in tackles the past eight seasons.
First, it was St. Louis. Then, it was Buffalo. And now? Well, that's where things get interesting. Fletcher becomes an unrestricted free agent Friday, and he is supposed to be out in Buffalo -- though he said his agent continues to negotiate with the Bills -- and in at Washington? Or was that Detroit? Both are among his most rumored destinations.
"Where did that come from?" asked Fletcher, house-hunting in Charlotte when I caught up to him.
When I told him, Fletcher laughed. He insisted he doesn't know where his next stop will be, but wherever it is, he expects it to be his last. He also said he knows what he wants from his next contract, and it's what most players on the verge of leaping into free-agency want.
Some people call it financial stability. Me? I call it a reward.
Which means London Fletcher is in the right place at the right time to collect it. With the salary cap jumping to $109 million per team, there are clubs galore with the cap room and the money to spend on unrestricted free agents. All they need is someone worth paying the big bucks, and I think we just found him.
