Curtis Painter is like Peyton Manning compared to Caleb Hanie...well maybe not, but not far off
Broncos are also bringing in Dennis Dixon in for a visit though
Smoot, what do you make of this? Hear any word? @incarceratedbob is breaking a few of these. He's normally good for some stuff.
10:33PMest:3/25/12:**UPDATED NFL RUMORS**Source: NE Patriots & Chicago Bears have been discussing a blockbuster deal that would land Forte in New England (Pats offering 2ndRd & 4thRd pick) #IBN sources are saying that this deal has picked up major steam the past 48Hours and something could pop at anytime.. Source is stating, Pats view Forte as the last piece to a major offensive juggernaut, only thing that may stop this deal from happening is the Bears insisting on another high pick this year or next year. My source states this will be worked out sooner or later and we could very well see Forte running for Brady & the "Hoodie" soon... 10:15PMest:3/25/12:**UPDATED NFL RUMORS**Source: St Louis Rams are getting more involved in contract negotiations with Mike Wallace -- Wallace still wants big money but the Rams feel he will come down as draft approaches. STL is ready to pounce when his price drops, the big play WR could still end up in Pittsburgh as they have the right 2match any contract offer... (Broncos & Pats still with limited interest)
|

Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
For St. Louis sake Mike Wallace isn't worth the number 6 pick.

Especially from a team that has 2 first rounders |

Exactly! I swear, sometimes teams seem to forget that the f*cking Pats are perennial contenders, yet teams make these ridiculously one-sided deals with them that gives them players for nothing (Welker) or picks (the Seymour trade). |

Miami got a 2nd rounder for Welker when they got him for free basically. Only team that hands the Pats one sided deals are the Raiders. |

And the Josh McDaniels' led Broncos. |

They had no trades with the Pats that I know of. The Pats got a 2nd rounder from the Chiefs for Cassell. |

I thought the McDaniels traded up with the Pats to get Tebow? Never mind, it was Baltimore. |

@incarceratedbob is breaking a few of these. He's normally good for some stuff.
No idea. Sometimes, because I spend just about every working day of my life surrounded by sports news and info, I like to just "get away from it all." So for the past three days-other than stumbling across the Dennis Dixon news and Sean Payton potentially to Fox Sports-I have been totally out of the loop, on purpose. Just needed some time away from sports for a minute. A few more days and I'll get back in it. Right now though, I'm all about old school re-runs on Antenna TV |

miami got a 3rd rounder, which is rediculous. I'd rather have 3+ seasons of 1000+ yards and 100+ catches than a 3rd round pick. regardless of what miami paid to get him, they're still on the stupid side of that trade. |

Without Tom I don't know if Welker would be have been this good. |

Actually, they got a 2nd rounder AND 7th round selection for Welker from the Pats. How Patriots grabbed wide receiver Wes Welker from Dolphins - The Boston Globe
The Dolphins were amenable, shipping Welker to the Patriots for second- and seventh-round draft choices.
Wes Welker Stats - New England Patriots - ESPN At the time of the trade, Miami made out like a bandit. Look at his numbers in Miami the two years. 2005-----29 recs 434yards 2006-----67recs 687 yards Getting a 2nd and 7th rounder for a guy that only produced those kinds of stats is a work of genius really. Especially for a undrafted free agent. |
