Houston at Chicago | Sunday November 11, 2012 | NFL - Yahoo! Sports

I know it was raining and there were 2 good defenses, but this is one ugly box score for the QBs.

Schaub - 95 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT

Campbell - 94 yards
Cutler - 40 yards, 2 INTs

skinsfaninok 11-12-2012 03:55 PM

Last night I said Chicago was the best team but I just don't trust jay Cutler in big games.

They are just working their way up on the food chain till they get to Rivera. He's without a doubt gone after the season.

Panthers
Titans
Eagles
Dallas( maybe)
Washington( maybe)
Jets( maybe)

All might have hc jobs open

You can scratch off Washington off that list. Mike isn't going anywhere much to the displeasure of Goat, Punch, and GTripp. The only way is if Mike walks away.

I think alot depends on how we finish out the year and who's available. DS doesn't want to look like his old self but if there is enough displeasure with the fans...I think that lets him off the hook. Can't believe everything you read of course but I don't think he was to thrilled with Mikes remarks after the Carolina game referrng to now evaluating who's gonna be on this team next year. No matter how he meant it....it did sound a little like throwing in the towel on this season.
Vick could be done for the year. Question is was that his last game as an Eagle?
Vick suffered a very serious concussion yesterday. I read an article from a philly journal that said he might have suffered minor brain injury judging from post-injury tests, and comments from his wife that he was naseus and shaking on his way back to their home.

Vick's criminal past not-withstanding, and I don't even want to debate about right or wrong concerning him, i think it is truly sad that a week ago his brother Marcus was on twitter saying how bad the eagles line was and that he didn't want to see his brother have brain damage by the time he's 40, and here Vick is at 33 and he may indeed have suffered brain damage (albeit minor) yesterday.

If Reid is retained by the eagles, I believe that Vick will stay with the eagles and re-negotiate his salary to be a transitional guy until Foles or whoever is ready. If Reid gets canned, then I think Vick might end up in Arizona or Minnesota, if he is able to come back at 100%.

Seriously with all of the hits he's taken and especially now with maybe facing brain damage / post concussion syndrome i wouldn't be surprised if Vick has thoughts of retiring, as he has young children, etc. not worth getting permanent brain damage to continue to play football.

I could actually see this happening. If Mike is honestly burnt out I could see him walking away this offseason. I'm kinda torn on whether or not I support this move but if he's definitely burnt out and doesn't have the energy or passion for us anymore then I definitely support it.

Agreed, and the chance of that happening is probably slim to none. Why would he walk away from $7M/yr? Plus I don't see his pride letting that happen. He would love to prove the haters wrong.

I actually am kind of a fan of Vick now that I think about it. I'm a die hard skins fan but you have to respect the guys talent and what he has done in the league. I really think he is getting more heat than he deserves right now and he is handling it like a true pro. I hope he gets healthy and plays where he wishes next year.

Just respecting his talents man, the guy was and kind of still is electrifying. And Idk man, Vick got the falcons farther than matt ryan has so far without even half of the talent they have on that team right now. Vick had big old Crumpler and thats it. Brady and Peyton are in their own league.

Ray Edwards anyone? I say give him a look, why not

skinsfaninok 11-12-2012 11:17 PM

What separates Brady and Manning from the rest is they are automatic every week.

Guys like Eli, Ben, brees all have spotty games at times.

There are only 2 Elite Qbs and that's brady and Manning. Rodgers is 3rd best IMO. But he's not elite just yet.

Why would we want a 4-3 DE?

If anything, they should take a look at Stanford Routt, but at this point we need more safety help than anything else.

Because he could be a good stand up pass rusher. You just don't know.

And Stanford Routt is one of the top 5 Worst CBs in the league, according to pro football focus.

What in terms of position, Ray Edwards is a better DE than what Stanford Routt is to CBs.

Edwards had knee issues last year and after playing 6 years in the 4-3 he's not going to become a good 3-4 pass rusher in a matter of days. Given our sh*tty secondary, if I must chose one, I'd chose Routt. In reality, we're not going to acquire a player to fix our defensive woes overnight.

While there might be players out there that can easily switch between one scheme and the other, I just think it is a bit silly to suggest the acquisition of a player from a defensive scheme that is not ours. That's like me suggesting for us to get a 350-lb tackle for our zone blocking o-line.

scheme isn't everything. if he can get to the QB, try it, cause we can't.

What he has done in the league?

You mean below-average passing ability, criminal and immoral activities that now only hurt his team by taking himself off the field, but taking himself our of society while in a prison cell for a while?

Or do you mean the drug offenses and shooting the middle finger to fans?

He's been a scumbag on and off the field and yes, he's a gifted athlete in terms of speed, he's been a mediocre quarterback at best. He's managed a few great games in his career, just like Rex Grossman.

His Commissioner-mandated apology tour doesn't make up for what he has done.

If I never have to watch him play again, I'll be happy.

Other than his off the field transgressions, which he already went to jail for, I really have nothing against Vick. I don't think he is good enough to overcome the sh*tty offensive line Andy Reid has placed in front of him (made even worst by injuries).

He hasn't done jack shit in the league. He's just been a glorified RB except for one fluke year.

ps. He also had Roddy White on that team and still couldn't get it done.

Re: Around the NFL week 10

In terms of talent, as NC said, he had one fluke year and was always a gimmick QB and nothing more. He helped the Falcons win a few games but he has never been more than a poor man's Randall Cunningham.

While I wouldn't wish injury on the most despicable of players, I am hopeful that I will never have to watch him on a football field again.

[Not sure if I ever said what my solution to his off-field the field issues was: Douse him in A-1 sauce and put him in the ring with his dogs for an hour. After that, debt paid.]
