Re: Larry Johnson Cut
thank goodness, he ran like hot garbage these first two games. i appreciate the effort and all, but he had to go. vaya con dios.
I was hoping he could have stepped up. WParker couldnt, Westbrook signed w/ the niners, IDK why the team didnt take a shot at getting Ltomlinson but I had hopes of LJ being able to shine like in his heyday. It wasnt like he was asked to anything special.. just run FORWARDS. The team must like Keiland a whole lot. I dont see it. |
is there anyone out there we could trade fat al for? obviously a 4-3 team...
In the movie Semi Pro, a player was traded for a washing machine, maybe AH could go for some sort of ....idk. If the NFL was like baseball and had AAA I probably would have liked to seen Snyder buy a team in Iraq and ship him out until "we call you up" thats not wrong to say is it? |
Re: Larry Johnson Cut
I think before people go nuts on the LJ bashing, you may want to stop and realize that our offensive line is not doing the best run blocking. LJ played well in Cincy, which has a good power run game. Right now the team seems to be a pass first offense, something that might be a bit hard to get used to given our history of being run-first.

Re: Larry Johnson Cut
Don't forget that LJ wasn't much of a pass blocker, didn't seem to even try much.

Re: Larry Johnson Cut
It says in our paper here that Johnson could be re-signed after Sunday's game, kind of similar to what Pittsburgh did with Byron Leftwich.
They apparently need the roster spot temporarily. |
Re: Larry Johnson Cut
Need the spot for???
They could just make LJ inactive for a week. Leftwich was cut because of injury and they can't carry 4 QBs when Ben comes back. Dixon got hurt, so 3 out of their 4 QBs could not play, leaving only Batch...so Byron was resigned so Randel El wouldn't be the only QB if Batch also got hurt. Leftwich is still not 100% over his injury, but he knows the system in case he's needed. |
mortreport
In fairness to Larry Johnson, most football people don't see him as a zone runner, which is what Redskins do. redskinsblog It's official. #Redskins release Larry Johnson. #NFL 4 minutes ago via TweetDeck JasonLaCanfora Redskins have released veteran RB Larry Johnson. half a minute ago via Twitter for BlackBerry® mortreport Andy reid has named Michael Vick as team's starting quarterback... less than a minute ago via TweetDeck Wait what....
He's not a good runner period anymore. He couldn't get on the field with the Bengals last year either. Time to hang them up. |
Re: Larry Johnson Cut
I thought Willie Parker looked pretty good in the pre-season. Would rather have him than LJ.
