"Redskins have named Kirk Cousins starting QB for week 1 per source"
Cutting him loose makes sense to me because

1) The circus is over. You cut ties and say, "Hey Fresh start for both of us, just didnt work out, blah blah". It's over, the RG3 drama can end TODAY

2) How much value is a third string QB really? You're not gaining anything by keeping him. Just a distraction

3) He can still get hurt in practice. That means you are on the hook for the $16 million. No sense in taking that risk.
If only Snyder could see past his ego. See Sunk Cost Fallacy. The draft picks are gone. Never to be seen again. That ship has sailed. Suck it up and realize that sometimes things don't work out and cut the kid. Right now the distraction is just not worth any potential gain.

It's pretty obvious that KC is going to be the starter moving forward. Gruden knew that Griffin wasn't his guy last pre season.

Lesson to be learned by Snyder. Stop being buddies with the players. They are your employees and it's your place of business. Treat it as such.

Could not agree more. I am....saturated with the venom of Burgundy and Gold. I seek to cloister myself in a sanctuary for wayward.....prostitutes.

I don't see the doom and gloom that some of you feel. I think it is great that the team is closer to making the correct decision of parting ways with RGIII. Yes, it sucks it did not work out and to hear all of the Dan Snyder/Redskins hate on the national media this morning.
But with the option year on RGIII's contract makes it difficult for him to be on anyones roster in 2016. He will have to be cut and a new minimum contract would have be created. Nobody will offer us a low round draft pick with his contract and that huge cap hit in 2016 in place.

Godspeed SS. I hope you find what you seek. If this year is another repeat of last year I too will probably take a break. The last few years have felt like we keep descending levels of football hell.

WTF???? More reports that Darth Snyder DID NOT block the Rg3 moves?
Nooooooooo...............

Two people with knowledge of the team’s planning each said Snyder is not blocking his front office and coaching staff from trading Griffin. One called an ESPN report that suggested that, “100 percent wrong.”
