Re: Food Vices
All the condiment talk, got me thinking about mustard.
Yellow Mustard or Deli Mustard? I grew up putting yellow mustard on tons of things, even things that would be considered weird. I was in a deli/dijon mustard phase for like 5 years, but now I'm back to old tried and true yellow. With some hot sauce mixed in. I just don't enjoy most foods if there is no kick. I'm a hot sauce junky. |

On a nice deli sandwich probably dijon. |

New condiment

Ha that’s exactly where I tried it! We have wawa all over but recently got a Sheetz that is semi close. Gotta some sliders…pretty good but some chicken bites and tried the Dr Pepper bbq. Wow…pretty good and brings a lil heat on back end of flavor. |

Maryland needs more Sheetz and Rutters. We also need WAYYYYYY less Royal Farms; that place blows. Even the chicken went downhill super salty now. Their weird self check out process sucks too. I freaking hate ROFO ( even that acronym makes no sense) |

Way too dry. It's like the epitome of crappy gas station food. |

Edit… I shouldn’t get vulgar in the food thread. Also there was a time in my life i was livin off of chicken salad sandwiches from gas stations. Forget where or what type of little mini mart it was but they were tasty for gas station sandwiches. |
Re: Food Vices
What is your favorite pasta/sauce combination?
My go to is rigatoni with red sauce and tons of parmesan cheese. Going with raviolis and vodka sauce tonight tho. |
Re: Food Vices
RoFo fried chicken is good. sometimes it can be dry but you gotta make sure you arent getting pieces that have been sitting under the heat lamp
Sitting out front of a gas station crushing fried chicken and wedges isnt for everyone but me and my daughter love it --- sauce? a simple homemade red w san marziano tomatoes, onion, garlic etc is hard to beat ... if you can get a chef to combine their diavolo and a cream sauce, thats never a bad way to go carbonara is my favorite if i had a gun to head |
Re: Food Vices
Carbonara is where it’s at if I’m buying it out….at home, A good Pesto is a favorite as well
When I make a homemade tomato base or even buying an top shelf marinara…I always make sure I dissolve some flat anchovies in it cause I like that salt savory. Mushrooms and onions in a red sauce is always good, as well on pizza |
Re: Food Vices
Penne with vodka sauce
|
Re: Food Vices
I'll take Wawa over Sheetz any day!

Re: Food Vices
Sour cream. I've been on a sour cream kick recently. Underrated condiment.

Re: Food Vices
Gotta have sour cream on chili…especially when I’m making chili nachos.
When it’s come to munchies…chilli nachos are the Mount Everest. Ridiculous |

I don't dip things in it, just FYI. I just didn't know what classification to consider sour cream. Maybe ingredient is a better choice. |
Re: Food Vices
Favorite go to snack when I'm just being lazy or it's time to go to grocery store:
Tortilla, cheese, sour cream, bacon bits, and hot sauce burrito. Can bang one of those out using the microwave in like 2 minutes. |

If it's slathered on I'm sending that shit back. If I get mayo on a sandwich and I didn't ask for it, I may just throw it at the person that made it. |
Re: Food Vices
The mustard to mayonnaise ratio needs to leave heavily towards mustard on a sandwich to me.

I got a $15 cheesesteak plus Doordash fees one time, its a really good cheesesteak, they put mayo on it. I called up and was bitching, they just refunded me, dog got the cheesesteak, i had Golden Grahams that night. I will eat it on a BLT or a tuna fish salad sandwich but just randomly putting it on shit, grrrrrr.............. |

Re: Food Vices
Mayo on a burger is just wrong. The worst though is on an italian sub, mayo has no business on there. I remember getting an italian sub once and opening it up to see it was drowning in mayo, threw that shit right in the trash and had to go hungry for lunch. I was so ticked.
Mayo on a cheesesteak? Gross. |

Re: Food Vices
^ Maybe because it smells like ass crack?
I can deal with it, just not in excessive amounts. As a kid I played a prank on a friend, told him to close his eyes and gave him a spoonful of mayo, told him it was whipped cream, he ran outside and puked lol |

I think it would be the coolest thing to meet u all in person. Can’t believe they fuckin put mayo on a cheesesteak when you didn’t ask?!? In my 50 years - a good majority of it spent in NJ and 44 of it was before I started eating vegan - never ever. That is crazy but hysterical that it was in NJ. |
