I would like to see the o-line become:
LT: T. Williams LG: Shawn Lauvao C: Josh Leribeus RG: Spencer Long RT: Moses Morgan The sooner we get this line up on the field, the better. Give them time to develop and play with each other in real action. Stop shelving young talent.
Id like us to pick up a veteran at center. someone to call out the line shifts, responsibilities, clear communication w RG3. someone should become avail. Until RG3 learns to successfully read a D pre-snap and make correct audibles and call out protections, I want to smartest available guy doing that for us and I dont think montgomery or lerib is that guy. Center and MLB are the 2 spots I want on-field coaches manning. |

And while we haven't seen much of him at center in the pros, he was praised before the draft for his high football IQ and how well he did at making the calls on the line. I'm totally fine with starting him at center; his great run-blocking skills will be used well there, while his poor pass-blocking won't hurt so much. |

Licht's pass blocking might even improve, since he's bulking up this year. |
Re: Projected Lineup... Your thoughts?
I will say this, looking at our roster it certainly looks improved over last year. Add in a healthier RG3 and we could win some ballgames. I'd say 3-13 or worse is a real long shot.
Pretty much nowhere to go but up unless Griffin was a mirage or Gruden is in over his head...or both. |
Projected Lineup... Your thoughts?
no one in particular, 3-13 is fresh.
Yes, but 10-6 aint exactly stale. Its basically healthy griff vs non healthy griff. The team around him is no doubt improved so Im giving us the benefit of the doubt. Edit: do you remember the first quarter of the Seattle game? There was a stretch of about 5 weeks and a quarter before "the injury" where we were world beaters. |

A healthy RGIII is a huge difference-maker. And with a solid WR group to add to Alfmo, I think that we could definitely go from 3-10 to 10-6. I think we could be damn near unstoppable on offense in 2014. Also, the FO has put some emphasis on improving ST and the D and I think we'll be better in those areas, as well. So that will help. But you're right: we sink or swim with RGIII. |

interesting comment: Which returning starters (one each on offense and defense) are at greatest risk of losing their job? #redskinsmailbag — Big John (@Big_John_1906) June 12, 2014 John Keim: Well, the obvious one on offense is right guard Chris Chester. He is not coming off a good season and the Redskins have several young options at this position, between Spencer Long, Josh LeRibeus and Adam Gettis. Plus if they want to free up more cash, it's an easy way to do so ($2.7 million cap savings). But I still have to see proof that the young guys are capable of starting. Defensively, you could put Stephen Bowen in there because of his injury. But that's not what you're looking for. Jarvis Jenkins is an obvious candidate because of the depth up front, but he will still play. The Redskins also have more options at inside linebacker if Perry Riley doesn't play better overall than last season. But he's also the highest paid inside linebacker. Interesting to think he was a must sign, but now there is this possibility. |
