Lol. "If you really knew me....." you'd know I was being sarcastic.;) I originally had little faith that Beck would do much better. With the OL missing players and the WR's really not stepping up Grossman either I couldn't see much changing. But it was fun throwing it all back at the Beck fans who were so adamant that he was our problem solver. Haha. |
Re: The Skins Are Really A Very Horrible Bad Team
Look, I am just as pissed as the next guy to lose a game. But what we as Redskins fan have to look at is, are we headed in the right direction. Redskin fans have been buying into the hype for better part of 12 years that this is going to be our year. Spending ridiculous amounts of money on worthless players. These things have been debated to death. Throwing the draft picks out the window year after year.
What I am pleased with is the progress on both sides of the ball, personel wise. Young players at key positions, building depth, and mixing in some personel that actually fit into the system. I am excited of the potential this team has in 2 or 3 years. |
Re: The Skins Are Really A Very Horrible Bad Team
I think the plague of injuries to Cooley, T. Willimansm, Moss, Buchannan,Jenkins, and most importantly Tim Hightower took the air out of the offense. Beck looks lethargic and has no grasp of the offense at all. He's missed the big plays down the field and its cost us 4 losses as a result.

Re: The Skins Are Really A Very Horrible Bad Team
why is this in the "Redskins Gear" forum?

Hadn't even noticed. Maybe because he was trying to sell tix as well?

Nope, as was said to me after the first game, ....injuries are no excuse ...all teams have them and must deal with them, "players need to step up". |
Re: The Skins Are Really A Very Horrible Bad Team
Their defense was also built around Manning. They dared their opponents to try and keep up with their offense. It was designed to give up scores, but the most time-consuming manner possible. When the opposing O had to abandon their run, Freeney and Mathis could then start teeing off on the opposing QB.
Their defense is exactly why they didn't win more Super Bowls. It sucked. (especially when Bob Sanders was missing) |

It's the FO's job to have competent reserves in place. Failing to maintain a certain level performance after an injury shows a failure to do that job. |
I dont mind not going back to Grossman, but it really depresses me we didnt at least have another option. How can a nfl coach not have a developmental 3rd qb to give a shot if, in the off chance, 2qbs named Beck and Grossman somehow didnt work out.....
We should have kept Clemens and cut Banks or Austin as hindsight is 20/20. I don't think Clemens would have been a barnburner either, but at least another option. |

In other words, our new GM is in over his head. |

Even with Zorn everyone was initially excited about the new regime. The whole thing(meaning franchise) is HYPE. You don't think Shanny and Allen could be all hype after all that we have experienced since the Cooks lost the team? |

No, in other words our previous "GM" was so incompetent and big name hungry that our salary cap situation left no option for bringing in competent back up players and our new FO knows that when you build, you do it one step at a time. Regardless of basic fan stupidity(just to be cleared not calling anyone here stupid ) |

I can see the reasoning in not caring about the first two years of the new regime and chalk them up to pure rebuilding, but this is totally regressive and smacks of a FO that might not be entirely stable. Case in point, bringing in McNabb, only to toss him out within the space of less than one season. They knew we had junk at Qb so they did the bold move to acquire McNabb and get Grossman as the backup. Rail against Donovan all you want, but he was a lot better last season than Beck or Grossman this season. IF they were going to do a Dive for a Top 5 or Suck for Luck type thing, why bother even getting McNabb if they didn't care about winning now? Do you see my point. Why get a top FA QB and lose draft picks if you already know you have squat to work with, and will lose with the FA QB. Sorry, but that is a Vinny type move to me!!!!!! |

Still the injuries affected your team, hence our win (now looking back). For our team the injuries is just one of the list of things that is wrong with this team. |
