Got a quote stating that he claimed to be the master mind? I think that part has already been discussed. (clue: he wasn't the mastermind) I think Bin Laden has been QUITE clear about his beef with the US is that military bases are on their soil. Can you blame him? Would you sit around and let China or North Korea have a military base here?

The enemy can (and did) declare war on us, just because we don't 'declare war back' doesn't mean they are any less vociferous in their engagement.
