Lavar is no longer talented. The giants cut him for a reason...

He's an over-zealous washed out linebacker who's had his shmorgusboard of physically debilitating injuries. He won't ever have a season close to those in his prime and has lost several steps.

I pray we don't get him.

Smoot is over-rated... but he's probably better than alot that's out there. We're really in bad shape on defense, and this has to be a very smart off-season.

No more Archuletta-esque moves. I'm hoping we trade down and fill as many holes as possible, because there are plenty of them.
trade down too much, and the talent might not be good enough, meaning you have to upgrade once again :/.

emmons and clemons would be good depth LBs to bring in for next year.
Cant the mods put people here who want to bring lavar back in a 'time-out'? pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
I guess that would mean that I would have to put myself in timeout. ;) I understand the anti-LaVar sentiments and don't care for the "Bring Back Ramsey" crowd, but I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him back for the right price (aka cheap) and provided doctors clear him. He's undisciplined, melodramatic, narcissistic, and overrated, but he can also be a playmaker and a decent teammate.

I think a lot of people used to agree with me on this one. Before Arrington was cut, people loved the guy even though they recognized that he had some serious flaws. After Arrington was cut, people acted like the guy was worse than Warrick Holdman. Granted, he's had a serious injury, but one that he should be able to recover from.

So, to repeat, in my mind it all depends on his price and whether he can recover from his injury.

Think about it...we can get both Clark and Arrington back!

And I bet the D still wouldnt be nearly as good. I vote that its time to go in a new direction.

Clark Maybe? Lavar...JOKE! Price doesn't matter, if ya can't play. Lavar wouldn't make it through camp without another injury.
Thanks for the link.

As for bringing LaVar back - even for a try-out - Dear Lord!!!

Will the LaVar worshippers ever stop? He had a shot, blew it and then showed his true colors (Q: "Who is the worst coach you ever played for?" A: "Joe Gibbs" (I saw the clip - he didn't hesitate even a beat before saying it)). LaVar hates the Skins and they probly don't like him all that much either. Why bring back the drama queen?

In one sense, both LaVar and Ramsey were two of kind - we Skins fans held them in much higher esteem then the rest of the league.
That statement by Arrington alone shows his complete lack of character. The only time I want to see him play in D.C. again is when Chris Samuels pounds him to the ground like Sean Taylor did to that punter this past weekend. Lavar should never be welcomed back as a Redskin under any circumstance and I seriously doubt he ever will.

Thats Great .. Get Arrington out of our division .. before we regret letting him go.

This is true... It's my personal (probably very un-educated) opinion that trading down is best. I'm honestly not passionate about trading down vs. drafting a play maker.... but the over philisophical aspects of it seems like an attractive idea to me.

I think we've done a pretty good job at evaluating draft talent, and getting some steals. I'm sure If we do end up trading down, the scouts will be able to take advantage of that option. If not... I'm sure we'll get a stud.

Re: Giants Cut Arrington, Emmons, and Petigout

Arrington's best days are in the rear-view mirror. He can still probably play as a situation player somewhere, but his days as an "impact player" are gone. I think he'll be back here in DC about the same time L. Coles strolls back into Redskins Park...

Emmons had his best days in Philly where he was clearly a "system player". Time and injuries have caught up with him. He may not make it in the NFL anywhere next year; if he does catch on sonewhere, it will be for a really low cap number.

I don't understand the Pettigout move. He was their best OL until he got hurt. Cutting him says one of two things to me:

1. His recovery isn't progressing all that well.

2. He was a problem in the locker room or with the coaching staff which is back for another year.

Re: Lavar Arrington and Chad Morton cut by Giants?
Lavar did not reach his full potential. But to call him a huge disappointment is ridicules. He's not in the class of Heath Shuler.
maybe so , but Shuler never claimed to be the second coming of J. Unites ,, LA called himself the next LT and picked #56 . LT made plays in every big game they played in , ask Jacoby and the other top tackles who had to try and stop him . LA never made a big sack when we needed < minus warner > one and he never made a big stop to end a drive , in 7 years ?? I would say that is dissapointing for the 3rd pick in the draft. LA is a great athlete , not a great football player . He bitched and cryed that .. Paterno , Lewis and Williams did not know how to use his talent ,,, maybe we should believe LA ,,,,, god knows none of them have ever shown they can coach and get the best from their players . LA isthe second coming of the BOZ , not LT . !! Glad he is out of DC !!
I thought Derrick Frost was playing safety next year.

:tongue
what if we put suisham at MLB and frost at DE.

now that is a fool proof plan there.

Arrington would be a great fit for my flag football team.

it is actually sad that lavar's career has spiraled downward soo fast. he was one of the most dominate LB at the peek of his brief career. i thought he was done dirty by the redskins. i hope somone gives him a shot, but i believe it is over for Lavar.

My thoughts exactly.

I loved him to death. I was at the San Fran. game last year and he had the crowd wrapped around his finger. All he had to do was throw his hands up, and the whole place went nuts.

He'll go down as one of my favorite players to watch... but yeah.. your right. He's done.

Re: Giants Cut Arrington, Emmons, and Petigout

coming off the knee injury and the torn achilles (spelled something like that) wll be too much, especially for a linebacker. he was just starting to get his feet back underneath him before that dallas game.

Damn that is sad
