Just gonna say it, but I see a double standard here in the Eagles organization. Resign and overpay Riley Cooper who did what he did last offseason, but Desean done zero and they blame possible gang activites? Thats kinda garbage
There's a big difference between yelling a racial slur when drunk, and being involved with a gang that's been connected to two murders since 2010. Jackson says he doesn't belong to a gang, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. But I can understand why the Eagles' FO cut ties with him.

And like punch said, money was a big part of it, too.

I bet you DJ isn't part of a gang but is known to associate with guys who ARE in a gang.

Still, not a good look.
Riley Cooper isnt making 11 mill this year.
Edit: if there is a double standard it is economical and not racial.
Riley Cooper acceptable DJAX not acceptable. hmmmm guess Eagles front office don't consider what Cooper did as being that bad.

Let's take Jackson point of view for a second, and say that the gang stuff is a non-issue. Is this the first case of Chip Kelly mishandling a star player? I know Kelly gets lots of love in the media, and so far it seems deservedly so, but one issue with going from College to NFL as a head coach is that the players are now grown men, and may not cater to the head coach's beliefs as easily as college athletes do. No clue if there is correct in any way or just some "confirmational bias" on my part.

Releasing a star player that was already accounted for cap wise, and is a big part of your style offense is not the typical NFL action.

Everyone has definitely drank the Kelly Kool Aid. I think you're right, Kelly is now being exposed to issues he didn't have to deal with in college.

From a pure football perspective, a player like Cooper fits more into what Kelly is looking for than DeSean. Size matters

It's not everyday that a player like Jackson is outright released. If I were Bruce Allen, I'm making a phone call.

True, but that can be a double-edged sword. You gotta wonder why the Pigeons let him go at all and just walk away at that.

BTW That gang ties story IMO is just spin. I think that DJax was such a di&k for so long, Kelly couldn't take him any more. If so, why would DJax be different wherever he goes?

People here that truly know football know his stats were very misleading. That's why when his stats from last year are mentioned around here, I just SMH.

RG3 knows what he has to do. I have no doubt that he'll do everything in his power to progress as a passer. We already know he's basically living over at Redskin Park. I think we have the right guy to coach him up. I think RG3 rebounds. But if he doesn't, all hell will break loose.

DeSean Jackson linked to West Philly gang group that beat up Will Smith resulting in his move to Bel-Air.

Does anyone know if NFL Network is doing weeks devoted to every team or is it only for teams deemed dynasties (even though the skins won 3 Super Bowls withing 10 years)? I know I for one won't be watching a second of their coverage next week during Dallas week. Just the thought of it makes me want to throw up a bit.

Either the Kelly and Laurie are tired of his crap or he's done something really bad that they're not telling us. When you add his salary and his inability to do anything but make 1 big play then disappear (true #1's can make huge plays and still be relevant afterwards) to either of his character issues, no thanks.

Besides multiple teams will be interested in him so he'll be out of our price range.

This is pretty funny. Wonder if this was an "accident" or if it was really an accident.

The Media is a joke . If the Pats ,Broncos, 49ers or Seahawks signed D-Jax it would have been called a great move. However since it was the Racist Redskins and Dan Synder we were bedding against ourselves . We overlooked his character and him being a locker room cancer . I did not know how many Redskins Haters are out in the media.
I guess since we were 3-13 we should not try to improve our roster by signing a proving playmaker. Oh wait should we take a flyer with our 2nd Rd pick on a WR and hope he becomes a pro bowl player. I think this was smart and calculated by our front office. The players wanted D-Jax more then we the fans did. None of us know how this we play out but I give credit to the Redskins for trying to be a better team . Synder has a ton of cash but he doesn't just sit on his hands and not pay to put a better product on the field. I love being a Redskins fan since 1972 and will always be one. HTTR
