I did not. That makes it even better. |

Re: Eagles Postgame DUB!!!
Haven’t seen this beast mode running since Riggins was setting off diesel horns at RFK. And this kid is just getting started.
What I especially love about our ground game is that AG, BRob and Curtis are all complementary to one another. If we can keep coaching up the OL (say, to pull more), we can attack D-lines from any direction, targeting their weak points. Then play action from these exact sets will take off. Going back to forming clean, stable pockets for Wentz didn’t work and should be over and done with.
You forget how tough CP was as a runner Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I go way back and remember Riggins on the Jets. Believe it or not, John Riggins was Kansas state high school champion in the 100 yard dash. Twice! He obviously had size and speed, a great combination. He was a GREAT pickup for the Redskins. |
Re: Eagles Postgame DUB!!!
We havent had a running back avg more than 3.4 yards a carry in a while.
Monday B Rob had 26 carries for 86 yds, 3.3 avg w his long run of 11 yds. Gibson was 14/44/3.1/7 Not sure running it 45 times at a 3.3 clip is sustainable for winning. |

We haven't been able to break any long runs either. For one week it worked but it's not sustainable long term. |

just reminded me .. we didnt have many false start/holding penalties that put behind the sticks. which is nice .... also not sustainable. |
Re: Eagles Postgame DUB!!!
Well they've won 4 out of 5 with the current approach, I know what also isn't sustainable, trying to open up the offense and have TH throw it 30+ times. Pounding the rock is our best hope.

Iggles are a pretty stout defense, and even so we were successful running the ball. I also think that for less stout defenses, and as he improves his game, B. Rob is due for some long running plays. |

BTW, 3.4 yards per carry means you are getting a first down with 3 carries. I noted that we did something against the Eagles that I cannot recall in a long time -- we ran on 3rd and 4. And picked up the first. We had a bunch of 1st down pickups on 3rd and 1 (and I think we only failed to pick up the first once in short yardage). Pound the rock. |
Re: Eagles Postgame DUB!!!
It is only a matter of time before Gibson or Robinson (or both) breaks a long one.

Also, we can run the ball with: - B. Rob - Gibson - Curtis - TH - McKissic (if/when healthy) Plenty of players to spread the ball to in the running game. |
Re: Eagles Postgame DUB!!!
With our running backs, a modest improvement in the OL would go a long way toward nudging 3.5 ypc into the 4 range. And that pounding ground game opens more single coverage on McLaurin or Dotson. It also wears down even good defenses to give you an edge in the 2nd half. This is the Gibbs formula for winning without so-called franchise QBs. Until we find the next Mahomes or Brady, I’ll take it.

Having Cosmi 50% at RT on Monday helped. When his hand is fully healed, he should be back at 100% which will improve our running game even more. |
Re: Eagles Postgame DUB!!!
In the 3 prior games (this year) Heineke played, the only offensive penalty they had was a delay of game penalty when they were running out the clock and were going to punt in the first game he played. I've seen him move players around which avoided penalties (like a wide receiver covering the end of the line), and he waited to spike the ball until everybody was set for a complete second. In addition, in the delay of game penalty this game, you can see him frantically clapping his hands, but our ?-string center doesn't snap the ball.
We've spent how much money for Alex Smith (worth it), who was killed by the line, Fitzpatrick for one quarter of work, and Wentz, and yet Heineke is the one who has had to take almost all the snaps. Maybe save the $20M+ and put it towards positions where we need it, like the line. Heineke seems to be the only QB who can survive back there. (Kirk is such a good QB, but with how much he costs, how much has Minny won with him there.) It's funny, because 2 years ago the story was that Heiny :-) wasn't durable... Well, given some of the DUI stuff around team facilities (Andy Reid’s kid is exhibit A), one can hardly blame the league.
