Re: Skins vs Seasquawks Positive and Negatives
I understand what you're saying. I just don't believe that Williams' and Garcon's not acting as if they are at a funeral is important.
They are pros and can compartmentalize. I absolutely love the example Trent Williams set for the younger players to follow. Please consider the following: 1. He was questionable for the game with a dislocated knee cap. 2. He was going up against the best defense and arguably the best past rush. 3. Everybody on that team has seen the dire consequences of a player gutting a game out on a wobbly knee against Seattle. 4. Nobody, absolutely nobody would have questioned him if he said he couldn't play. 5 He came out and balled. He gave 100% on a bum knee in a game where we weren't supposed to have a chance to win. 6. He fought tooth and nail even in the fourth quarter when we had little to no chance to mount a comeback. 7. If losing respectably to a great team as a huge underdog was ok, acceptable, par, expected, he wouldn't have been battling like he was when we had no real chance to win. I don't care if he sang happy birthday Mr president to Snyder in the locker room after the game. Trent Williams on Monday night is THE example our young players should follow. |
Yeah he's really going to have to get on a big tear to get a new deal deal here.
Meanwhile Kerrigan is proving to be the man.
Kerrigan has been a beast so far. That Jacksonville game really inflated his stats, but he brings the pressure every game. He and Hatcher are driving the defense. And I love Orakpo, but man, he's digging himself into a hole. He hasn't been pass-rushing as much as I thought he would, plus he's playing injured, but I'm tired of making those excuses for him. If he wants to get paid here, he needs to produce... period. No matter what. At least Rak hasn't been making any lame excuses for himself. He's stood up and said that there are no excuses and that he has to play better. |

I don't specifically know what was going on in that locker room on Monday night |
Re: Skins vs Seasquawks Positive and Negatives
Two things....Haslett should have had Robinson or Riley spy Russell Wilson.....that would have limited his rushing.....and the pass to Lynch in the flat which was the same play the Cowboys beat the Redskins when Romo hit Murray. Haslett should have been more cognizant of this since the defense had been attacked in the flat in the red zone before.......Pete Carroll was probably mindful of it.

Perry Riley could have been allowed to line up on top of Wilson and I still dont think he would have been able to stop him. He is one God awful football player. |
Re: Skins vs Seasquawks Positive and Negatives
Our team leaders may have to do some locker room work....but the team played hard. lots of injuries including our QB starter. First year coach....system....etc. We were clearly outclassed in many area's of player personnel. Another draft (with 1st rd pick) and FA off-season.......will help much.
They played hard and came out respectable in a game that could have 88-3. I don't like losing but it is easier to take than the G's loss...... Nothing to be ashamed of.... |
Re: Skins vs Seasquawks Positive and Negatives
meh,
I am okay with laughter in the locker room. Do I want them to be upset they lost yeah sure, but it's their job, I have a crappy day in one of my classes I don't carry it over to the next class or meeting after school. |
Re: Skins vs Seasquawks Positive and Negatives
Jason Reid is missing all the drama from last year and wants to stir up some.

Yup. Jason Reid just wants to be in the story essentially. The days of just reporting are over |
Re: Skins vs Seasquawks Positive and Negatives
Ryan Clark cleared it up. Players are human. Laughter is how some players deal with a loss.....Jason Reid was reaching a bit. Shame on him.

Re: Skins vs Seasquawks Positive and Negatives
I know I laughed a lot during that game, it is how I deal with being let down.
Positives are Kirk looked better, made some great throws and had some drops
Negatives are too many to list Haz seems to be catching a lot of hell and I am not a fan,but when all your drives start inside the 20 and most of them are 3 and out and the opponent is starting all their drives on the 40 yard line, well your defense is not going to look good. I havent heard it brought up about the chop block put on Orakpo that made him leave the game. He's lucky that didnt end his season.Looked like the exact same block that the bronco's did to the Cardinal player to knock him out for the year
So no one but me saw this? |
Re: Skins vs Seasquawks Positive and Negatives
^ I did notice that.
I also have noticed that Orakpo seems to get held more than our other pass rushers (and it seems so rarely called). I think it is partly because he is still too wedded to the bull rush, and he's powerful enough that some of the O-linemen are hanging on for life (wheras Kerrigan is good at swim moves and other things that make O-linemen miss). Mastering some other moves may help here, and I recall that this was supposed to be a priority this year. But the Redskins should take stills from every game and send them to the league -- they could probably show easily a half dozen egregious instances where Rak has been held with no call. |

Perry Riley would not have been able to meet Wilson on the edge if he spied him.....but Keenan Robinson would have.....Haslett erred greatly. |

A little look at Murphy's game so far... more in-depth than my sig. :D |

These were all dumb comments. No one likes a loss. What, are you supposed to be depressed all year? You've got to like your job, like your teammates and they fought out there. We lost, and yes -- we still sucked in special teams, erratic on D, and our running game was missing -- but we looked like we belonged. Injuries happen, I get it -- but let's realize that we're still down a starting QB, CB, TE, NT and our MLB went out mid-game. What if Seattle lost Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, Zach Miller, and Bobby Wagner? Would they be the same team with Tavaris Jackson? What if Denver lost Peyton Manning, Aquib Talib, Julius Thomas.. etc. There's no excuse for failure. But let's at least acknowledge that MOST teams in the league would suck if their starting QB was out. The Colts in the past went from perennial playoff contenders to 1-15 (Suck for Luck).. We just happen to have a good backup QB that's kept us competitive for 3 out of past 4 games. |
