Hey side note did lynch play w A rod at cal? I think so not sure though
1 year 2004. Lynch was a freshman Rodgers last year at Cal. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
Vince Young blows, I don't understand why so many people wanted him to be signed by the Redskins. A younger McNabb.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
Young and McNabb aren't similar at all. For example, McNabb wouldn't have done, well...that. That was awful.
I thought he's played a pretty good half though. |
Yea he's just bad I was one that said get him cheap but I'm glad we didnt even do that On another note how good is Lesean McCoy?? My goodness
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
Nice throw, Vince. I think the word here is schadenfreude.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
You know what would suck? If the Eagles end with a worst record than the Redskins and can spoil our draft.
|
Boy the eagles are a mess
|
Lynch is eatin

Re: Around the NFL Week 13
Ding...Ding...Ding. Eagles are DOOOOOOONE.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
Still looking for those peeps who wanted to bring in Vince Young.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
Right here. I thought, and still think, taking a chance on Young was better than taking a chance on Beck

Hey, Vince is a winner. It may not look pretty but....aw **** who am I kidding. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
I am sooooooo happy that the Eagles suck. I hope they fire Reid and descend into R. Kotite-like mediocrity.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
So ... if Reid were actually fired ... who here would want to dump the Shanny's and hire Reid? Anyone? Anyone?

12 years in Philly and how many SB's has he won? 000000000000 Stick with Shanahan. |

I doubt that is actually the best solution here though. Andy Reid's staff in Philly is doing him no favors. I don't think I want those guys here. I feel like that would be a lateral move to Shanny's staff. The best solution is probably a fresh start with a much younger coaching staff. Like for example, I don't think Marty Morningweg is a particularly exciting coach-in-waiting offensive coordinator type. I think Reid would turn it around here, but it would be kind of like Gibbs. If the front office is still based within the coaching staff, we'll be nowhere in 2015. |

Stick with Shanahan.
No coach has ever won the Super Bowl with two teams so in terms when it comes to who should be coach of the Redskins ironically Reid would be the better choice. However no way at this point would I swap Reid for Shanny. I am very interested though in seeing him go somewhere like San Diego and finally work with a real QB. Not overachievers. |
I love watching how the eagles are falling apart every where on the team...

If I were SD I would put in the contract that Reid must have an assistant whose sole job is to control the clock. Come to think of it, Shanny should get one too! |

For real. Talk about commiting just about every mistake that the Skins have made in the past. |
I think Reid takes a year off

Absolutely. Not even up for debate. John Beck isn't an NFL QB, plain and simple. VY is at this stage is a very good backup, with potential to be a starter. He's got a buncha dog ish around him right now (Riley Cooper holds on to that TD pass and VY has 2 tds and 3 ints, instead of 1 and 4). The guy has at least proven he can play in this league. |

I don't think he gets fired, but there will be some changes. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
From an Eagles Board:
Recipe for disaster Ingredients: 1 Football Team (Cut out the heart) 1 Head Coach who hates the run 1 Soft QB Swiss Cheese (Preferrably the offensive line variety) 1 Two-sided sheet of bad play calls 1 Faux Defensive Coordinator 1 Cheap FO Mix Pour into strainer to filter out linebackers, size, and football smarts Pour the remaining substance onto baking sheet. Pluck out any remaining testicles. Bake until it explodes and voila..The 2011 Philadelphia Eagles. Enjoy!
LOLOLOL |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
DeSean Jackson is channeling Terrell Owens: Asked if he was ignoring Vince Young on the sideline, Jackson's response was "Next Question".
LOLOLOLOLOLOL I am loving this sh**. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
:laughing- That sounds like a recipe for the ages, JR.
The Eagles are losers. It's as simple as that. One more loss will ensure a losing record for a team that does nothing as well as it does losing. There was absolutely no excuse for the defense to come out the way it did in this game, playing soft, missing tackles and watching Marshawn Lynch, who it knew was Seattle's only real weapon, run over it at will. There was no excuse for DeSean Jackson, who's still moping about his contract after insisting he wouldn't, to be giving up on deep routes when he's the only deep threat the team has. There was no excuse for the Eagles' penalties, for not calling timeout after a third-down stop with a minute left in the first half, for sending 12 men onto the field for a punt return and having to call a timeout when they were still in the game and looked as though they might need their timeouts. These are the careless, lazy, undisciplined acts of losing players and losing teams, and whatever the Eagles might have been or should have been, this is what they are. They are 4-8. They are the most disappointing flop of a team in the entire league. They are losers.
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
With all the respect I've given to the Eagles front office and coaching staff up to and including this year, for really just dominating the NFC for a decade, you wouldn't think it would be so enjoyable to see everything crumble so quickly.
And yet, here we are, and I couldn't be enjoying this any more. That Graziano paragraph is fantastic. This may not last the weekend, but this is DECEMBER and the Eagles are in last place of a division that includes the Redskins. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13

LOLOLOLOLOLOL I am loving this sh**.
Did anyone watch the game? The broadcasters were ripping Jackson because he was running routes and not even looking for the ball. VY threw a pick because he was looking Jackson's way, Jackson never even turned around, it was like he was purposefully looking away from the ball, and VY had to scramble to find someone on the other side of the field and forced a throw. What an ack jass. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
D Jax has been pretty irrelevant on the field for over a year now. Change of scenery would probably do him good. But probably only temporarily until he gets bored with that too
|
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
I admit, and if you haven't guessed, I love, love, love watching the Eagles fail.
I hate the smugness of Dallas fans and don't like the Cowboys - but I loathe Eagles fans with a passion. I admit it is both unchristian and not a particularly good example for my kids, but I enjoy when these dumbass, thug fans - who justify their unsportsmanlike behaviour as "passion" - are bitterly disappointed. I wish plague and pestilence on them from now until the end of time. Have been reading the Philly papers a little this morning and just enjoying the bile being spewed. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
By the way, in answer to my own question earlier, I would not want Reid. I think he could do well in San Diego, but not here. I just don't see him ever being as good at building a team as he was back in his first 6 years with the Eagles. As one eagles pundit (Phil Sheridan), after recovering from the 2005 losing year, the Eagles under Reid have never been as good as they were in the first half of the decade and have been slipping each year - in no small part to Reid's coaching and personnel errors.
He's a solid coach and will be good somewhere (probably), but I think he would be served well with some time away and, as Tripp said, severing ties completely with the current coaching staff. I just see him as staid and making the same mistakes time and time again, year in, year out (time management, inability to commit to the run). Also, I think that, once J. Johnson left (died), Andy has never really been the same as a head coach - it's as if, b/c Johnson was so damn good, Reid forgot what makes a good defense, how to coach defense or even how to pick a good D coordinator. He had his run, and, although I have said it before, I think the window has closed on this Eagles team. If AR sticks around next year, it will be deeply ugly for the team (Yeah!!!). |

I would be curious what type of control he is given in a new team. |

We hear this all the time. But didn't Gruden do it? Raiders/buccaneers? Who else? Tuna comes to mind but I think he just got them close. This topic came up on another site and I think Gruden was the most recent but long before him and the so called NFL when both NFC and AFC were seperate entities there were a few coaches who did it also. Obviously not to the SB but to their championship games at the time. |

But the Raidahs didn't even make it to the Super Bowl with Gruden. The ol' tuck rule did him in. Then Oakland trades Gruden to Tampa. The two teams meet in the Super Bowl. Oakland, at the time, was still using Gruden's playbook. Hence, Gruden knew every play coming his way and used that to beat the Raiders. |

Agree, I WAS in favor of bringing him here, but mos def not now after watching his play this season. Incredible watching him quit and whine at the sametime. Not a good plan to get a big contract |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
If Andy Reid was smart he'd make some changes now which might keep his job. Like firing the OL coach and moving his DC back to OL. Then actually hire a DC who is available (if there are any) and let him do his job as best he can. I think most of us to include the top management with the Eagles know that the injuries they have and poor play is not all on Reid, but the failed experiement of switching the OL coach to DC might cost him his job cause if he can't see that it's not working then the top brass has to wonder if keeping him around is a good idea. Unless Reid is trying to get himself fired so the top brass will still have to pay him and he can go elsewhere or take a break on the Eagles dime.
If I was the owner I'd be talking with Gruden or Fischer. Imagine the in division rivalery between MS and Fischer or MS and Gruden. It would make the NFCE the top division to watch week in and week out with a ton of tv sponsers. |
