Retweeted by John Keim Zac Boyer @ZacBoyer 34m According to a person familiar with the situation, the #Redskins have released Nick Williams from the practice squad.
Looks like Crawford was cut from the PS as well. Wonder what the deal is? Need more depth at DL/TE? @Justin_Byram #Redskins release Richard Crawford from PS. |

It would be nice to have a pro-bowl TE but a halfway decent backup TE like Reed would do. |

Re: Reed, Cofield could miss time
multiple sports pundits have been saying many in the organization had a lot of frustration with Reed's unwillingness to play through pain last year.
Cooley said reed seems to take longer to return from injury compared to other players with the same problem. basically, Reed doesnt like to play through pain and in the NFL, you are always going to be in pain. difference btw playing through pain (no or little risk of further injury) vs playing with injury (risk for further injury) both injuries really suck for us. i think we need all hands on deck and some luck to get this thing going in the right direction.
As I said earlier, another Florida Gator "softie". |

Paul was great minus the fumble. Losing Reed is only bad from a depth point of view to me. Losing Cofield does hurt our D off the bat. |

Jordan Reed = Glass Jo = Malcolm Kelly

I don't get it. First saden1 says that Reed is a "halfway decent TE", then this guy says that losing Reed is "only bad from a depth point of view?" WTF? Reed is one of the best players on the whole team and one of the best young TEs in the league. Without him, we basically have nothing at TE. With him, we have a far better offense and a target that Griffin can trust more than any other receiver. Reed is no average scrub, people. Maybe he can't stay healthy, but he is an outstanding talent. Just ridiculous. |

Can't make this stuff up sometimes.

Re: Reed, Cofield could miss time
I don't know why people think Reed is "just an average TE" the guy can ball. He just can't stay healthy. If he could stay healthy for at least 12-14 weeks of the season, he'd probably put up top 5 TE type of numbers.

Re: Reed, Cofield could miss time
Yeah, I am not ready to lable a guy great when there isn't that much tape on him. I mean, has he done anything in this league I am not aware of?

Paul did an admirable job minus the fumble and can make up for the loss of Reed. Not sure if Cofield's replacement can be as effective. We will find out next week though, won't we? That was the whole point of my previous post. |

Reed might end up being the next Tyler Jacobs for all you know. What good is a great talent if he only plays 4-6 games a season? If we were talking about Chris Cooley or Fred Davis, then I would agree with you my posts would be ridiculous. Niles Paul put up some nice #s for a TE, minus the fumble, and if he keeps up that kind of production, that will be great. I don't think I am all that off base saying Reed's loss will not be a big detriment to the team's performance since he is an unproven commodity. |

1. Taylor Jacobs 2. Reed has shown just as much s Fred Davis ever did. |

OK, so Reed's loss won't be a big detriment because he's unproven, but Paul will fill in fine because he caught 4 passes in a career best game? Reed caught 45 passes for 499 yards and 3 TDs in 9 games as a rookie. Paul has caught 18 passes for 314 and 1 in three+ seasons. |
