are cell phones not allowed in school in your state?
I know theyre not suppossed to be using them in class but everyone does.My daughter{10th grader}says theres mass texting going on during class.They hold them under the desk or in their purse.They dont need to look at the screen{unlike me}to do it.I check our phone bill records to keep her in line.I wish cell phones were banned in schools,its a huge distraction in my opinion

It was bad enough she beat a scared kid that was so scared he feel to the ground in fear before she even got close to him. But she was wanted by the law but the b**ch wasnt even certified. This just makes my beloved states education system look like shit. Hell there is a story going around that a 22 year old kid enrolled at a high school as a 15 year old and [B]stared [/B]on there B-Ball team, go figure.

If they're out, the teacher/administrator takes them. Kids could get suspended for repeat violations.

Wife is a teacher's assistant here in Frederick County. They can only take the phones until the end of the school day. They tried having rules keeping them until the end of the year, etc, but the parents got mad because they still had to pay for them, and in the end, it was the kind of thing where there is no real way to prohibit it unless every single kid was searched down, so they kind of turn a blind eye to it unless you are caught in the middle of class or something...

yeah,thats why i wish they would ban them from school,IMO this is a no brainer,like texting while driving

i remember sneaking my sweet ass blue pager into school back in the day. back then if you had a pager it meant you were dealing drugs, so gay. is there any chance anyone still has a pager?

Pagers are so small now they fit on a key chain like a keyfob. My company tried a cost saving measuire of taking blackberrys and replacing them with pagers. It was a nice attempt LOL!!!

I remember when I got my first pager. I went to the store and the guy said in around twenty minutes I'll get a page and that will be my pager number. Well I'm driving down the road and the thing is on vibrate and when it goes off it scares the shit out of me. I screamed like a little girl and spilled coffe all over myself. The car sitting beside me saw the whole thing go down. It had to be funny seeing a guy screaming, shaking, and coffee flying all over the car for no apparent reason.

As a SPED teacher there are days that are quite trying but I could never imagine going to this extreme. I do worry about our public schools, we are no longer producing thinkers and that worries me. It is all end of the year test driven. Kids now adays have very little foundation, like spelling words correctly and knowing basic math fluently. As a teacher it scares me. If something does not correct itself and soon we are going to be in trouble.
