I think they are in pretty good shape at wideout now (2 #1s). Do all of the Randel-El seekers want him for punt returning? |

Every time someone on the Skins radar is contacted by another team, lots of people on this board start to freak out. It is kind of like being in a bar and the hot chick you have your eye on is getting hit on by someone else. Maybe she's even engaged to somebody else. So long as she isn't married, Danny doesn't care. He doesn't get himself a drink and go to hide in the corner or decide to go hit on her fat friend. No, he goes and buys her a drink and walks right up to her like "Nolan" or "Romeo" aren't even there and sweeps her off her feet. Snyder has taken a great deal of smack since he bought this team. But make no mistake about it, this time of the year he is the best owner in the NFL. He is a total pimp gangster stud. |

I think that would be the best reason to bring him. Right now, I don't know what Brandon Lloyd is going to be. I'm not sure if I should expect #1 numbers from him or he could even end up being our #3 if we add Randle El. I think the biggest reason to bring him in is his versatility and his return ability. |

I hope you know the 9ers entered the Randle El war as well :)

Re: Randle EL to the Bears????
If and when Randle El is signed by us, Taylor Jacobs and James Thrash are gone. If David Patten looks bad in training camp he'll be on the next bus out of D.C. too.
I see the Redskins picking up a WR in the Draft if Andre Carter is signed. There are going to be some left in the second round that will help us out tremendously. |

Why I want to see him is that it is another playmaker on the offense. We've got big time problems at QB. Upgrading at WR is a less expensive way to impact our passing game. If he brings special teams and gadget plays, that's a bonus. REL and BLloyd are not super stars. But in the big picture, the sum will be greater than the parts. |

Isn't that inflating things just a tad? |
Re: Randle EL to the Bears????
I really think this whole thing is going to be interesting. Right now we are on some crazy kind of rush to get ever WR we see, because last season we had a huge WR depth problem. I agree Jacobs will definately be gone, but we are still going to have Trash and Patten. So this makes Moss, Lloyd, Trash, Patten. I feel that Patten won't do well at camp, and hes heading out too. But that still leaves us with a similar problem as last year, one good reciever, and a bunch of ify ones. It would be great to have Randle El, but then I worried its going to cause a whole bunch of problems, with two great recievers(Moss and him), and one who thinks he is beyond great(Lloyd).

Bears | Randle El rejects team's offer
Sun, 12 Mar 2006 09:47:18 -0800 Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports free agent WR Antwaan Randle El (Steelers) has rejected a contract offer from the Chicago Bears. His agent is still in contact with the team to keep talks open. we better not end up overpaying for him if we get him |
Re: Randle EL to the Bears????
Do we know the specifics of the offer?

Re: Randle EL to the Bears????
I heard it was something like 5 years, 20 million with a $7 million signing bonus. Apparently, the sticking point is that Randle El wants a a 6-year deal, like they gave Muhsin Muhammad last off-season

We don't have a clue. He has yet to fire a regular season NFL pass in anger. Brunell had some great games this past season. Unfortunately, as the year wore on, the Skins were winning in spite of him, not because of him. For the season, we ranked 19th in terms of YPG passing with 194/YPG. Most of that yardage was in the first half of the season. In the post season, it was 127/YPG. Upgrading the passing game is essential if the Skins are going to build on what they have going from last year. |
Re: Randle EL to the Bears????
The following quote is from an article in today's Chicago Sun-Times:
"Randle El visited the Redskins, while the Bears were compiling a list of other possibilities to fill their need for a return specialist." That has me thinking that maybe Randle El's concern may not be the money so much in Chicago but what his role will be. Maybe he's upset that they apparently don't see him first and foremost as a primary (or secondary) WR. Of course, now that we have Lloyd this could make the Redskins less appealing to Randle El as well. |
