So Haslett was the DC last year. He is still under contract. There has been no rumors or talk about letting him go. Seems to me there is no reason to "announce" a DC. We already have one.

I do love how the coaching staff is shaping up so far. Thought Morris was looking to depart, is there any truth to that?

I remember when Kirk was here before hearing a lot of good things about him, that he was an up and coming coach and such. He's coached almost every defensive position. Very good addition.

I think they'll probably hold onto Morris as DB coach. I'm not sure if anyone cleared up whether or not Haslett was FOR SURE going to be the defensive coordinator again.

It was a few days ago, but they were talking about how Haslett would be bumped up to assistant head coach and Morris would take over as DC. But I think those rumors have been put to bed.

Having Kirk O back is a big deal. He will get the 3-4 looking respectable.

Kirk O is a fine hire. I'm looking forward to see what he can do help improve the D.
I'd really like to know which man made that call. I suppose it's possible that Haslett is not quite as bad as Shanny has made him look at times.

But even if Shanny was the source of some egregious defensive play calls, I still think we should hire a DC who is better than Haslett.
Personally, I think results matter regardless of the playcall. I preferred blitzing in that situation anyways. It's only a bad call if it doesn't work. Under Haslett, neither the "all-out blitz on 4th" or the "prevent D inside our own 10" have worked well.

Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins

WR coach is the position I am most interested in because Jay will need production from the WR's in order to succeed.

Possible Targets

Ike Hilliard- Worked with Jay and Hass before in the UFL. Former Redskins coach as well.

Richard Mann- coached the WR on Jon Gruden's Superbowl Bucc's team current WR coach in Pittsburgh

Mike Miller- Coached as the Cardinals WR coach in 2007-2008 had three 1000+ yard receivers in that year. He is now an Offensive Coordinator in Canadian football league.

Erik Campbell- WR coach who gained fame at Michigan, Campbell coached wide receivers and punt returners. He was also the team's assistant head coach from 2003 to 2007. He set an NCAA record by coaching a 1,000-yard receiver for eight consecutive years from 1998 to 2005.

Well with McVay getting bumped up to OC, we have a TE coach space to fill.

Nobody can say that our coaching candidates don't have good bloodlines.

We're building a Son-of-a-Son-of-a-Coach Coaching Staff.
