Bro, starting a 6th/7th round rookie quarterback in the 4th game of his career is not only wasting a season, you're feeding that kid to the wolves. With that logic you deserve what you get, which would be a huge pile of dogshit.
If we start off 0-3 with this schedule, the season is already over. Dak was picked in what the 3rd or 4th round and he's playing good. I'd prefer Cousins just stop stinking but I don't want to watch a whole season of a guy playing like that that won't even be on the team next year (if he kept playing bad). Hopefully they can find a way to win next week and Cousins gets it together, but based on the first 2 weeks I don't have high hopes. We just lost at home to a bad team with no defense and their backup QB in. |
Re: Skins Vs Cowturds Game Thread
This team is 100% pure garbage. I'm really disappointed with Kirk. I expected him to be much better than he has been. He missed three easy TD passes. That int in the end zone has to be by far the worse throw I've seen from him while. The defense was dreadful. Them bums can't stop the run or any below average passing game. Joe Barry should be cleaning out his desk along with Jay Gruden.

They only ask him to do as much as he's comfortable with, and it's working right now. It doesn't mean it will work for the rest of his career though. Pretending like our 6th round project qb could be the next Dak or even Kirk is laughable, he's probably a good two seasons away from knowing whether he's worth keeping or not. I hope you're right and they win next week, but the season isn't shot at 0-3. Just last year we wasted half the year and still managed to win the division. It's hard but not impossible. Besides, as bad as these first two games have been we know this team is capable of getting into a groove, and anything can happen. We don't need to win the division, that might have been our goal at the start but I wanted to see improvement over last year, and right now it looks like we have regressed. |

If we lose to the Giants and Cousins played like he did today, I'd say go with Nate. We either find out if we got lucky or we get a top 5 pick to draft a QB. I said same thing in another previous post.
Cmon... |

He's a project but projects get better by playing. I'm not saying he is the answer, but if he played and stunk we'd get a top pick to get another QB. I don't want to go 6-10 with Kirk. I'd rather go 3-13 Nate. This conversation is probably better to have after the Giants game. We beat the Giants and the Browns and we're back in business at 2-2. Our schedule is brutal this year, would be very very tough to make playoffs if we start 0-3. |

Cmon...
How many bad games would it take before you'd yank him? If he plays like this all season he isn't going to be on the team next year so there'd be no point to keep playing Kirk the whole season. Maybe my leash is too soon, but it has to be somewhere this season if his play and our record don't drastically improve. Like I said, I hope it was just a couple bad games and he starts playing better, but if it doesn't at some point you might as well see if Nate looks capable, even of just staying on as the backup QB once Colt leaves in a couple years. |

I think statistically teams that have started 0-3 or 0-4 have like an insanely low chance of making the playoffs when you look at historical records. I suggested that by 0-4 or 0-5 it is time for a QB change because the simple fact is your season IS basically over and you need to use the remaining time to look at next year's squad. I really don't see Cousins being here next year. I said it all off-season and in the pre-season. But, like history has always shown with us - when we let Cousins go, he will go somewhere else and become a great superstar like what happened with Trent Green |
Re: Skins Vs Cowturds Game Thread
Cousins really isn't the problem. It's the defense. The problem is if kc doesn't play at a Roger's level to over come our shitty defense he looks bad.

The defense is horrid, but Cousins is a problem. The man has been bad thus far. He can turn it around buy it doesn't look good. |

Yes he's an excellent mention too. He slipped my mind. We let rich Gannon go too and he became a star |

Every franchise has a list of players that left their team and played better somewhere else. All you can do is base it off what they did while on your team and decide if the guy is a keeper or not. Based on the first 2 games, Cousins is not a keeper. Hopefully against the Giants he starts working on swinging that feeling back the other direction. But it'll obviously need to be for more than 1 game. |
