Re: Conference Championship Week
Superbowl was last week when Carolina played Seattle.
Denvers D has a slight edge over Carolinas but Carolinas O has a definitive edge over Denvers. |
Re: Conference Championship Week
Palmer retire already, you are done.

Carson Palmer is having his Jake Delhomme playoff moment.

I think that is a real possibility. We need a Luke Kuechly like guy to lead the D. Really really need to go D heavy in this draft and hit on 80%. |

I think he might have had an inebriated twinkle in his eye. His back is going to be a little stiff tomorrow. |

And the old Kirk Cousins of 2014 when he threw 4 picks against the Giants 45-14 loss. |

Feel bad for Palmer, def a mental thing with him on the big stage

He should retire after this game, he'll never get over it. |

Was that in the playoffs? Edit : Palmer is an experienced vet playing on a good team that won alot of games. It is nothing like Cousins vs Gints from 2014 on top of the fact it was a regular season game. |

Career playoff stats Peyton Manning: 636/1004, 7,198, 40, 24 -- 88.1 passer rating Tom Brady: 738/1183, 7,957, 56, 28 -- 88.0 passer rating Something to reflect on. |

Yeah but Palmer has a history of not showing up for big games. Cannot blame anyone else but himself. A problem I hope Cousins is confronted with but conquers. |

Looks like Super Bowl 50 will be the John Fox Bowl. Both Gary Kubiak and Ron Rivera replaced Fox with their respective teams. Says a lot about John Fox. Dude is the new Marty Schottenheimer. Too conservative to win big games. |

I can understand that thought .Even on paper the Panthers should win which is why I'm going with the Broncos.Too many examples of a better team losing in the super bowl. |

I'd like to see manning go out on top I just don't think they will In fact I believe Carolina may start a back to back run, they were this good without a number 1 WR all yr and an old RB. They will be just as good next year imo. Hopefully it'll be us in the mix with them |

Good point. Although, Peyton has been to the SB with two different teams and three different coaches. I think that adds a degree of difficulty, which Brady will never have to face Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
Four different coaches. Dungy, Caldwell, Fox, Kubiak Coaching counts for a lot, yet people continue to pass it off. However, you can't say one is better in the post season over the other if they have pretty much the exact same stats. It's a team game. Period. |
Wow, Denvers defense was swarming.....
Anybody know a handy place to find sack numbers plus QB hits? I looked for a hot minute at work today. Anecdotally, Brady looked like he was getting up off the ground every other play. He was rattled the whole game. I realize the talent level of the D, but Wade Phillips isn't getting enough credit for that game. He did something nobody else has done this year which is rattle Tom Brady from early in the game till the end. |

I loved how Denver said "u have no one who can beat us over the top" so the second half they had a ton of guys underneath stoping the short passing game. Brady will dink and dunk all the way down the field and for some reason (Joe Barry)coordinators let them. Amendola and eldman are underneath receivers. Also Denver linebackers Brandon Marshall and travethan can cover. |
Re: Conference Championship Week
I'll tell you what Wade did, he sat back and watched his talent get it done.
When you can get serious heat on the QB without bringing extra rushers you're already way ahead of the game. Especially when you can get pressure from the interior to prevent him from climbing the pocket. |
Re: Conference Championship Week
But he also is a great defensive evaluator with a great scheme. If he were here our defense would have been better. But he isn't so we have to hope Barry can become great or at least good.

On the broadcast, the sideline reporter actually mentioned that BB said the defensive looks were messing with them a bit. It wasn't a report, more of a comment, but it is telling IMO.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
And I'm not knocking Peyton by any means. They're both great players. But to me Brady is better because of his post season success. Also I don't think I've ever seen a better bad weather QB ever. Brady can play in any type of weather. It also looks physically that Brady still has several more years left. His arm looks as strong as it ever has. |
Re: Conference Championship Week
that broncos D is crazy good. and their linebackers can actually cover WRs.
I'd like to see peyton win a 2nd QB for reasons... and then retire. |

I think he will retire in 2 weeks, and I'll be rooting for him to collect his 2nd ring. Unfortunately it will probably be his toughest SB since Seattle, this Panthers team looks unstoppable. |

Re: Conference Championship Week
when you have the 4 best teams (ie the most likely to have a bunch of pro bowlers) basically not participating, of course it's going to be watered down. i mean, technically arizona and NE could send people out, but if i was there, i'm not sure i'd want to hop a flight immediately after exit interviews and all that.

He said they played a different type of coverage on a single series with mixing different styles of the same coverage. He said they played six different versions of cover 2. Really good listen if you have a few minutes. They have really smart, really talented players and a killer game plan which confused a guy who doesn't get confused. THE PERFECT STORM! |
