If the bucs are smart they should hire Coughlin who lives in Florida.

Sure, if they want an over-the-hiil, worn out old guy. It would be easier and much cheaper to just grab some old guy off the street in Tampa. There are plenty of other old guys who were forced to retire in Florida. |

Remember Marv Levy? He didn't win 2 SB like Coughlin and had success in his 70's. |

Coughlin ain't Levy and Coughlin looks done to me. I can practically smell it on him! As a retired old guy, I've learned that most of us are done before we realize we're done and it comes at a different age for each of us. I think Coughlin is done but he doesn't realize it yet. He'll be pissed at Mara until, one day, he'll realize that Mara was right. |

Better than it looks on the field, but not terrible. Still seemed to me like we got shredded anytime we played a good offense. Lovie Smith's track record really hasn't been as good the past several years as I thought it was, but we really could use a better defense. I think we need a better defensive coordinator, like a Wade Phillips or Rex Ryan. I understand we will have to go with someone who isn't established, who can develop into a Wade Philips. I just don't think Joe Barry is our guy. |

the espn980 crew was speculating that they wanted to give the job to their OC after how well he worked with Winston, and they were afraid that the OC would get HC offers for other teams. Lovie might be a perfect fit in NY or Philly? |

But I very much doubt any of the staff will change unless they are hired away. |

Report: Jon Gruden let Eagles know he's 'interested' in replacing Kelly
cbsprt.co/1S7tOHF Not cool, chucky! |
Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
jon spent a lot of time falling in love with bad qbs. philly taking him wouldn't necessarily be a bad hire for skins fans. he's been on the bench a while, though he's been active, so i doubt he'd be rusty.

It would probably be bad news for us b/c everyone knows that older brothers are just naturally better at everything. |

Coughlin interviewing for the Eagles hc. And looks like Eagles first choice is gonna go with the Dolphins

Adam Gase to become the Dolphins new HC, per ESPN.

Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
Gase seems like the second coming of Norv Turner. Great guy, but maybe not someone I'd have running my entire team.

Do the Eagles need permission from the Giants for this to happen? If so, Coughlin's snub of Mara at his last presser might come back to bite him. |
Do the Eagles need permission from the Giants for this to happen?
If so, Coughlin's snub of Mara at his last presser might come back to bite him.
Yes they do, because Coughlin had a year left in his contract and he quit (was not fired). However, multiple reports say that the Giants will not get in Coughlin's way and allow him to interview. I think it is interesting that Reese was not fired. A lot of the GMen's issues had to with personnel IMO. |
Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
if you ask a guy to retire. you can't keep him from interviewing afterwards.

Trainers can only do so much. How are they supposed to prevent a car accident?

Obviously they can't ,yet the rest of the list is knees a foot and a neck pretty sure I can find a few other knees that I can add on ,I all so realize "every team" has injuries but to me any way they need to go back to a grass field but I do wonder why the Jets don't have the same problems. |
Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
Hue Jackson to coach Browns
|
Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
Jackson will just do what all the others have done, Cleveland is just so poorly ran it's a joke.
|
Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
49ers still cant find a coach or does everyone keep turning them down? Says a lot about the management of that organization.
|
Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
SF should just hire Kelly. See if he could get Kap back to playing like he did a few years ago.
Hue Jackson to coach Browns
That's a bit of a surprise. Seems like he could have had any job he chose, why would anyone choose the Browns?? (And yes, I know the same could have been said about the Skins from 2002 to 2015) |
Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
I think SOMEONE wants to say they fixed them. Good luck with that. :D
|
Re: Coach Changes: Firings/Hirings
The Browns are so bad that I don't think there is a downside for Hue taking the job.
If he does well, he gets all the credit for turning them around. if it's another shit show, then he can do a Shanahan and blame everyone on the way out and not look back. |

His rep was pretty much trash after that but he worked really hard to be in a position to be considered for a HC job and, IMHO, could have had his choice of decent jobs. Glad he's not in the NFC East. I think it's a dumb move on his part but really wish him success. |
