I think we see much more of what we saw in the second half than what we saw in the first.
I 110% believe Griff being rusty had a trickle down effect on the entire team including the d. Kept them on the field way to long. I say he comes out on fire this week and we never look back. Almo redeems himself too. The Skins - 38 The Wack - 21 Also the birds lose to the Chargers and I no longer have to hear about the genius that is Chip Kelly. He got lucky that Griff was not up to game speed - as was evident in the second half when we kicked their ass. |
Yeah - see my edit above. Where did Brandon Jenkins come from? Should i be happy we have him?
We drafted Brandon Jenkins in the 5th round this year. And I would say that you should be happy. He would have been a 2nd rounder (Possibly late first) had he come out after his junior year, but he went back for his senior year and got injured in the first game and missed the rest of the season. He could be a steal for us. |

Cool. Missed the entire draft and was out of the loop for alot of the pre season, but thats a story for another thread. Interested to see him play now - thanks. |
Re: Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers Pre-Game Thread
I have to give the edge to Green Bay in this one. They are playing at home and coming off of a tough loss to an outstanding team. They will be ready for the Skins. I can't bring myself to pick GB but I'm not feeling confident about this game.
A win over the Packers in GB would be a big boost to the Skins. |

They shouldn't be, they have problems of their own to worry about. |
Re: Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers Pre-Game Thread
Only one part of Monday night has a lingering bug in my ear.
It's not the turnovers, I am sure we will see more this year than last, we got several lucky bounces. But, that game ought to have put everyone's mind back in place. It's not the defense. We know that secondary is not our best place, but at least to me, it did seem improved, but not perfect. It IS the penalties. We had them last year, we had them in the preseason, and this from Keim, emphasizes what a turning point they can be:
John Keim @john_keim 7m FWIW: Shanahan kept saying they would've had a TD on 4 &10 if not for false start. Had a shot: right route vs. coverage. Moss open on out John Keim @john_keim 7m If he doesn't score on that play, it's a first down inside the 20. instead: fourth and 15. fail. penalties hurt them.
We lost early games last year on penalties in the last few minutes which derailed comeback opportunities. (Rams game for sure, but think there was at least 1 maybe more) IF we get the penalties corrected (which I am not confident we will), then my prediction would be that we win Sunday at GB. |
Re: Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers Pre-Game Thread
I'm just hoping that Green Bay doesn't take a cheap shot at RG3 like they did at Kaepernick. I'm going to be really pissed if they do. Maybe this is the game where the Redskins need to designate a hit man for retaliation if they try any funny stuff. Niles Paul would be a good guy for that. :)

Re: Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers Pre-Game Thread
King is a genius.
We're playing from behind and chose to pass the ball instead of run it, so the read option is dead. If anything, it's spreading throughout the league. Oakland is trying it. The league's least-mobile QB PEYTON MANNING was running some RO plays from the pistol. |
Re: Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers Pre-Game Thread
King didn't write that.
No click for you huh? |

I'm thinking Reed will be bigger than Davis in this one. He had some outstanding plays against the Eagles, and that earns a QB and OC's trust. |

Reports coming in that there will be a protest at Lambeau over the Redskins name this weekend. I predict a massive crowd of five protesters. Possibly less if the weather becomes inclement.

Re: Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers Pre-Game Thread
Thats one of the things I dont understand. They arent just protesting the name Redskins. They are protesting every Indian name in existence (Chiefs, Braves, Indians, Warriors, Seminoles, Blackhawks, etc). Yet no one mentions that.

I had no idea that the Oneida Nation sponsors the Packers or has a gate at Lambeau. The Oneida Nation folks are trying hard to turn up the heat on the name issue. They may have some success. |

Re: Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers Pre-Game Thread
because Fred is too inconsistent
|
Re: Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers Pre-Game Thread
Actually, Fred has been consistent in terms of pass catching and play-making WHEN on the field. If he's on the field, he'll produce. He looked even better this preseason too.
Of course, that's why Reed is here. Davis is only inconsistent in staying on the field, but if he's playing, he's one of the more dangerous TEs in the league. If they both stay healthy (and out of trouble), we're going to have an incredible duo at TE, perhaps the best in the league now that Gronkowski has lost his partner in crime forever. |

Re: Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers Pre-Game Thread
Meriweather should play...so should Jermichael Finley.
Why didn't Doughty start last game? I did not understand Biggers at safety other than his speed advantage. Having a sure tackler like Doughty probably would have been a good thing against that Eagles offense. |
