Hey Smoot you make some good points on the play calling on in the Red Zone. I would like to see RGIII have more of a pass option near the goaline. i do not like running sweeps near or on the goal line. I hear skins fans wanting to get rid of SHANNY but why do this when we are finally getting younger talent on the roster . We have a future star QB and a nice young RB in Morris let's keep them in the same system and let them grow with the coach. Lets be patient and not over react over a few losses. Remember this year we take our lumps so next year we kick some butt. Hey look Andy Reid will be available would any Redskin fan want him to be our coach? I rather stick with Mike S.
How about 26 loses in 3 years. But he's still evaluating all that talent. This is one tough predicklement we're in. Only members of the WP know which move is the right move.

Some of you have mentioned Logan Paulson in this thread and I think he is a decent player, but my problem with the Redskins right now is when a guy like Logan Paulson is the Number 1 option for RGIII and therefore has more catches and yards than the other receivers in the last few games, I have to be wondering what's up with our WRs.

Yes, that was one long sentence! Hankerson is a joke, Morgan is hit or miss, Nile Paul doesn't exist as a pass catcher and Cooley is a decoy and a bad one at that. Robinson and Briscoe would not be on other NFL rosters. Without Garcon and Davis, this team has no one that can win a one-on-one matchup. Except maybe Santana and he got hurt. Shanahan's WR picks have been all terrible.

Well we also have to remember that we also had what a 32 million cap hit against us last year and other cap hits for players no longer on the team.
at least gaffney is tearing it up
Lol. Had to check because my sarcasm meter is broken. Hey he caught 3 passes for Miami the past 3 games! Obviously Shanny's player evaluation skills suck.

I saw that KC releases a CB Stanford Routt, who I heard is supposed to be pretty good, and thoughts on bringning him in. he was supposed to be a younger cheaper Carr and that is why KC let him walk.

Why in the hell is Josh Wilson and DeAngelo Hall still starting? Isn't it time to give Richard Crawford a serious look?

I agree. Id bring him in no question about it.

Why? Because he's wise enough to stay away or were not pursuing him?
Why? Because he's wise enough to stay away or were not pursuing him?
he won't have a choice if he is claimed off waivers. if he clears waivers, then he can stay away.

anyone think he'll clear waivers?

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Panthers at Redskins)

we would be pretty early on in the waiver list, I didn't look at his contract but it is clearly something we need help in and if he is inexpensive and a mulityear guy that could take some of the pressure off the front office in the offseason to add to that group with free agents.

I think his contract is an issue. Also, gotta wonder why teams are dumping him so soon after signing him to big deals

Even if we jettison our newly healthy RT, saving us tons of money?

You mean Jammal Brown? If we learned anything from Brown's tenure with the Redskins is that he can't stay healthy for a full season. It would be better if the Redskins found a Jon Jansen type in the 3rd or 4th round of next year's draft. My patience with Jammal Brown has run out. Even if Brown starts the remaining 7 games and plays admirably, if I were the general manager and the head coach I would be looking past him to a healthier, younger, and stronger prospect.

Until this team shows a heart, it doesn't matter. It starts at the top with Snyder, and a fish rots from the head down. Down to players who may remember the old culture of bypassing the coaches, straight to the owners and rumor mill, ego and parties before football. A locker room that still might be a mess.

We can bring in 53 new guys, and if the culture of the locker room doesn't change, it doesn't matter.

From Ryan Clark. LINK. Others have said similar things.:
"I think in Washington you just have so much going on. You have such an organization built on putting people in the seats and finding extravagant ways to do things, instead of winning football games all the time. You know, I loved playing in Washington. It was a great place. And they just go about their business a little differently than the Pittsburgh Steelers do."

This team's current drama reminds me of the bad old days in 2000 after our own dream team blew up. Fingers pointed everywhere, not just at the guys obviously screwing up.

I think we could win with the guys we have now. Gibbs could get these guys heads out of their asses at least every other year. But we're talking about HOF coaching there. Yeah Gibbs wasn't great in picking personnel, but nobody got better from people they coached. It shouldn't have to come to that now. This team is supposed to be full of adults.

All blame. No heart. Looking at team news, and the internet, I really really hope we're not back in 2000 mode. Prove me wrong please, Skins! Come together this bye week! I'd rather even keep Haslett and Smith on the team, if all this drama would stop. This franchise seems to have gone full retard already this season with all the rumors flying, just like the bad old days.

Despite what's happened so far this year, I think the Redskins can pull themselves out of this and play great football during the remainder of the season. We must look at what's straight ahead. We've lost games that were winnable. I think Haslett and Shanahan knows this and so do the players on both sides of the ball. All they have to do is play smarter and harder and just like that the Redskins can end up 10-6 and make the post season.

For those complaining about the scheme in use by Kyle and MS and asserting that RGIII is winning in spite of it, from NC_Skins link:

"Here’s the thing; very rarely will you see a play run in this offense where nobody is open. This scheme is, quite honestly, brilliant at taking advantage of the defense’s weaknesses. On film, that was still apparent against Carolina. The Redskins simply could not capitalize. And part of that had to do with Robert Griffin III missing plays that he was seemingly perfect on early in the year."

I haven't broken down the All22 so maybe this guy is blowing smoke, but it seems to me to be a well informed analysis. As I have always thought, it is not the scheme, it is the execution and that falls on both players and coaches.
