Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Yeah that was an excellent throw. Too bad Ramos couldn't handle it, although the collision might've had something to do with that. I've enjoyed watching him play these last two games. Tyler Moore had a nice hit in his first game as well.

Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Harper certainly looked like he belonged. Time will tell if he is really ready for a permanent call-up but one thing is for sure... there isn't anyone who plays harder. The dude puts the most effort into playing I have ever seen. I've never seen a guy hit a tapper to the pitcher and run it out like they honestly believe they can beat the throw.
His effort alone made me a believer. Then he made that throw. Holy Jesus Private Pyle...that throw was impressive!
Honestly his best at bat IMO in the two games he's played was with two outs in the 9th inning yesterday. He turned an 8 pitch at bat into a walk, patiently taking balls and swinging at strikes. He looked like a calm vet. His walk brought the winning run to the plate. Too bad the game ended with a strikeout. But still. You can tell the kid will be special. |

Had the same conversation with some friends this morning. He even said he wanted to jack the ball over the fence but nothing good came his way. Smart play. Team's gotta step it up though. Tired of that little bitch Eric Karabell. Want the Nats to win to shut that ****er up |
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
At some point he's gonna struggle but unless he is seriously stinking it up I say they need to park his ass in CF and call it a day. I'd rather watch him hit 240 than Bernadina and him in left with Werth and Morse(eventually...hopefully) is our best outfield just about any way you look at it.

Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
I'm really going to need the Nats to stop losing now. This is what they do to me every year, come out strong and then fall flat on their face.
|
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Lately it seems they couldn't even buy a hit if it was offered to them at a discount. We're just going to have to ride it out until our hitters get healthy.

Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Nice team win by the Nats tonight! I know the Phillies are aging and banged up, but tonight was the first game of the "Take Back The Park" campaign, and from the looks of it on MASN it actually looked like there were mainly Nationals fans there. I was really hoping either Harper or Werth would get the winning hit, but I'm very happy Ramos was able to drive it in.

I'm all about the Nats beating anyone, but wins always feel a little bit sweeter when it's against the Phillies. Nats v. Phillies to me is like Skins v. Cowboys. |
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Terrible night all around for the Nats, so the Orioles hold the best record in baseball. Hopefully the Nats can quickly recover
|
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Only took 17 innings for the Orioles to win today.
|
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
i have only watched the orioles vs the angels this year. i'll go the next time they come to town. i really wish that they could continue their good play
|
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Yeah I went to the game last night, disappointing to say the least. I'm more concerned about Jayson Werth's broken wrist though, it just seems we are getting all these key injuries at inopportune times. Zimmerman comes back, Werth breaks his wrist. Hopefully LaRoche will be back soon too, we could use him.
|
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Werth broke his wrist, out at least 6 weeks.
Bum was just starting to heat up too. (on my fantasy team) BUT...Bryce stole home! [YT]ANueHU2GbUY[/YT] |
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Werth will be out at least 4 months. Time for Tyler Moore to shine

4 months? Jesu H. Christie! I thought they diagnosed it as 4-6 weeks? |

I truly am a jinx. The year I decide to finally abandon the O's for my hometown Nats, the O's have the best record in baseball and the Nats are dropping like flies. I heard Morse will be back in June though, that should help. |
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Well LaRoche and Ryan Z. should be back this week, hopefully tomorrow.

I think Zimm will be back tomorrow from everything I've heard. LaRoche shouldn't be too far behind. |

They did earlier! I broke my wrist and had to have it repaired with a plate and screws and it put me out of commission for WAY over 6 weeks. |

Every time I've visited Angel Stadium, the O's have lost in some devastating fashion. The last one I went to (a few years back), Vlad hit a walk off in extra innings (when he was still an Angel). So to prevent the jinx, I've since stayed home. I did get the best baseball experience in my life at that stadium... a buddy had box seats and I got to watch a pitcher's duel. Erickson was on the mound for Baltimore and I think Weaver for Anaheim. |
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Pretty shitty that Coles threw at Harper for being a 19 year old in MLB. Got 5 game suspension for it, but how does that really hurt a pitcher? He rests for 5 days to begin with. Should make it 10 games so that way he'll be missing a start.
|
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Yeah I didn't get that either. So he gets 5 games off before his next start? Lame. Sure he probably can't hang out at the clubhouse or in the dugout but I doubt he cares. MLB dropped the ball on that one.

That explanation he gave was the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. I'm like, you can be old school without doing that garbage.

Good series this weekend. Wish the Nats had taken the series but seeing Strasburg hit a homerun was pretty sweet
|
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
seeing a pitcher hit a hr is awesome, even if it's against the orioles. did anyone see megatron hit that hr in batting practice? i really hope the orioles don't 2005 it
|
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Nice to see Zimmermann get one today as well. I'm beginning to think our best batters are the pitching staff. Gio, Edwin and Stammen are probably the best.
|
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Orioles have lost 6 of 8...the whole division from top to bottom is separated by only 4.5 games.
The end is here, Baltimore. Your hot April lasted longer than usual this season. |
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Chad Tracy out 2 months is brutal

The injuries are really getting old.

Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
Morse should be back soon, and if Danny keeps dicking around, Lombo will easily take over second.

I'll second this. At least they're still battling. |
Re: Official Orioles and Nationals Thread 2012
which is going to be the worst contract for the Nats: Jason Werth or Ryan Zimmerman? Werth was a bad signing, Zim is a much better player...but that was a ton of money. Zim stays banged up.
