Re: Redskins Send 5th Rounder to Rams for Carriker and a 5th (Swap 7ths)
This is a lot like the Erasmus James trade.
I thought that was a good value trade, and I think the same of this one. |

Four Taco Bell Tortadas...or two Wendy's Spicy Chicken sandwiches. Depends on whether or not they agree to a new CBA |

lol I knew that I needed to check Skins news before heading out to cut the lawn.. just got back from DC and was like.. I bet something has happened
we'll probably be more likely to recover that 5th now, even if we give up greater value for it |

no crap, he must have really rubbed some people the wrong way, regardless of what he has done on the feild so far and the injury, he was the first round pick three years ago, and they traded him to us like he is a washed up vet. teams don't just give away their first round draft picks this soon, but i'll take whatever else they want to give us too |

I'm not sure how this trade ties at all to the Rams taking Suh or McCoy now |

Re: Redskins Send 5th Rounder to Rams for Carriker and a 5th (Swap 7ths)
The 3-4 defense better work or it will be a major set back. Our 4-3 defense was pretty good. It just needed a more aggressive play caller who knows what he is doing and a leader in the secondary.
This change to 3-4 defense has created additional needs on a team that has so many other needs to begin with. Using one of our few remaining picks on DL which was not a real big need when the season ended. I continue to question the logic of this move to 3-4. We still need more LB's as well as Offensive linemen and young RB's. |
Re: Redskins Send 5th Rounder to Rams for Carriker and a 5th (Swap 7ths)
Redskins acquired DT Adam Carriker from the Rams for an exchange of fifth-round picks.
The Rams will send over the fifth-rounder they acquired from Philly in return for the Redskins' fifth rounder (the teams also swap seventh-rounders). WE DIDNT LOSE A 5th. IT WAS A SWAP OF 5TH ROUND PICKS & 7th ROUNDERS |

No need to get tricky on offense when you know the opposing team can't score worth a damn. |

Regardless if they draft Bradford or not, Feeley most likely will be the opening day starter. |
Re: Redskins Send 5th Rounder to Rams for Carriker and a 5th (Swap 7ths)
I like the trade. Maybe its because I like Carriker coming out of college, and I think he can be a solid DE in the 3-4. Though, my enthusiasm is tempered abit by that Erasmus James analogy, cause I also liked him coming out of college! :confused-

For a 5th rounder? GFTO!!! I'm sure Haslett is one happy man.

That may be true, but he's not going to be their long term QB. As some people have said, the only way Bradford doesn't go to the Rams is if someone offers a boat-load of picks to the Rams, and we are is no position to do that. |

I was all about Bradford before McNabb now it would be a waste of a pick as it is obvious the MS and company have a win now attitude. |

Still, the Bradford Boners are going to come up with ridiculous stuff between now and then draft...until we make our move. I'm still waiting for the "We can still get Bradford" thread after the Rams pick him up. |

The roster is jacked up right now, especially the front seven.

Re: Redskins Send 5th Rounder to Rams for Carriker and a 5th (Swap 7ths)
Hell yeah!!!! I wanted this guy back in 2007. Hard worker that won't be under pressure to put up huge sack numbers in our 3-4.
There's a plan...but it takes two to tango...and right now few teams are willing to dance with us
Good. I know it's in vogue right now to try and trade down, but considering the possibility that we're going to see 4 tackles go in the top 10 I don't want to trade down. As I've said before I doubt we can find two players equal to who we would get at 4. So right now the Redskins draft looks like this: 1st - Okung or Williams 2nd - McNabb 3rd - Jarmon 4th - QB Prospect 5th - Adam Cariker 7th - Your guess is as good as mine. Most people however see this 1st - Okung or Williams 4th - QB Prospect 7th - Your guess is as good as mine. |

Ok then... 1st - Okung or Williams 2nd - McNabb 3rd - Jarmon 4th - QB Prospect a.k.a. Colt Brennan's replacement 5th - Adam Cariker 5th - A LB? 7th - The next Chris Horton |
Re: Redskins Send 5th Rounder to Rams for Carriker and a 5th (Swap 7ths)
I just hung up with Vinnie. He tells me this deal will never fly. We'll need to toss in a first and third this year and a contingent 2nd for the next three years if he shows to voluntary mini-camps.
Oh yeah....and redo his contract with say.......50m or so guaranteed.......VINNIE...... |

The best part about this deal is that Haslett coached Carriker and believes he has some talent. Otherwise they wouldn't have done the deal.

I don't see how they owe Haslett a thing. He should be happy he has a job this yr and if anything he should feel he owes Shanahan something. But to your point.... Haslett was handed the 4th ranked defense. He has a hell of a lot of toys one defense. If anyone is owed anything it's the OL coach....and maybe the WR coach....T.O. lol. JK. |
