So you cant pass on a guy that may be like Ryan Leaf

Ryan Leaf looked highly unlikely to be Ryan Leaf, if you know what I mean. Our more pressing need is the OL because anyone that comes in will get murdered if that isnt fixed.
Owell man it's like beating a dead horse this season.. I feel bad for JZ because he has no QB or Line to work with

Re: DeSean Jackson = Playmaker. Who is ours?

It's not a guarantee that the rookie QB would start anyways, we could bring in the Garcia type and work some FA moves for linemen... if you can't find a QB that could be better in the next year's draft sometimes you have to take what you have now. Then you have at least a year to build your line and get the QB ready.
And we will be in position to draft the next sure thing at O-line. There is no such thing as a sure thing at QB, even drafting in the Top 5. And BTW, the Falcons addressed O-line in both the draft and FA the year they drafted Ryan.
Yea but they took Ryan first and then later in the rd they took their LT, also why can't we get a good lineman in FA?
We're not talking about this season, this whole discussion about next season. This season is down the drain.
Definitely. And I didn't figure we were talking about this season since we don't have a rookie QB

Yeah we really need to see what we can get for some of our more established players. Sadly I dont know how many of those we have, Moss comes to mind.

We don't have two first rounders like Atlanta had.
We don't have two first rounders like Atlanta had.
Atlanta didn't have 2 first rounders, until they traded with us.

And they only had the ammunition to do that because they got a second round pick for DeAngelo Hall.

All I'm saying is: it's possible. Although, admittedly, they rebuilt their franchise with help from Oakland and us. We don't have the same resources.

If the team manages to get two first rounders, I would say go and get a lineman and a QB. Well this would be possible if we get a competent GM that can deal this. But if that doesn't happen, my money would be on getting a franchise tackle with that first rounder (possible top 5 pick).

Not really because it can't get any worse than right now seriously. We are a JOKE in this league, we were lucky to be 8-8 last yr

wow all i said was to draft a QB in the first rd and now i'm DS? Man you are ridiculous, it's obvious that we need a QB along with an oline. So when Steve Young said that JC may never mature as a true QB and that's why we went after 2 this offeseason, he was acting like snyder also?

Hard to say on D.. I tend to think that he listens to the coordinators more on that side of things, but I don't know how much we actually WANTED Arch, Hall, etc.. so I don't know what to believe there.

But atleast he drafted Orakpo, Horton, Mcintosh, so the D moves were good and honestly who know's yet on our WR's? Next yr we should know for sure if they are any good.

It's not a lost cause, since I'm sure Snyder will go after a QB with his top pick, so you're all set.

Re: DeSean Jackson = Playmaker. Who is ours?

Thomas said after the game something to the effect of (when asked about other young receivers doing big things) not getting the same chances/looks, not a chance to shine, he's gotta do better with the opportunities that he's given and it's frustrating, but he's waiting for his time

also mentioned he does kr and pr in practice and asks the coaches to get in the game doing that

Re: DeSean Jackson = Playmaker. Who is ours?
I would keep this bum as a back up, pick up an experience free agent and draft a good prospect in the 4th or 5th round. But I would hope that Snyder would hire a GM and let him figure this out.
JC is not our QB of the future with or without a O-Line. He does not have leadership qualities. I would rather have a QB with fire and leadership than a QB that has all the tools but plays without heart and passion. He looks like a robot with no emotion. JC can be a backup here but I dont see him as the future anymore.

skins89moss 10-27-2009 03:54 AM

Re: DeSean Jackson = Playmaker. Who is ours?
Hey either way we need a NEW QB and NEW OLINE asap or else that great D will get old very fast..
Agree we need a better O-Line and JC is not the QB I want anymore. He has no fire and toughness. As much as he got hit he should have been in his O-line ass for pass protecting him so poorly. JC still doesnt make quick decisions with the ball. It took sometime for me to see this but its clear now. Im not riding with JC anymore. He is the best QB on the roster we have and TC sucks.
No the best player on the Eagles tonight was Jason (I'm done as a starter after this yr) Campbell lol!! That guy deserves all the shit Steve Young just said about him.. He is a bottom 10 qb in the league
Haha, I thought it was funny when Steve said that he wouldn't have thrown the ball that was tipped for a TD. He said something like a good QB can sense that stuff and make minor adjustments to his release/angle to avoid the defender's hand. I was thinking, "Whatever dude, you're a hall of fame QB!" I got a kick out of that one.
