Is Doug Johnson still backing up Vick in Atlanta, or did they get someone else?
|
i believe so but i'm not too sure since they pursued garcia. that'd be a good fit 2. good call smootsmack
|
Add in a horrible TD-INT ratio of 5-15 over his last 8 starts in which he is a sparkling 0-8 and it's hard to make an arguement in favor of Warner.
I don't see anyone handing him a starting job. He has alot to prove right now. |
Yeah, I think Warner is damaged goods until he proves otherwise. Plus, any team want to deal with Mrs. Warner? They come as a matched set remember.

I don't know if they got someone else smoots, but I am pretty sure Johnson was a UFA and was not resigned by the Falcons (or signed with anybody for that matter). |
Atlanta is a possibility - and so is Chicago. Lovie Smith coordinated for the Rams, they have only Grossman and Jonathan Quinn (?) on the roster, and Grossman may need either a steady backup, or some competition to get him ready.
|
i agree grossman needs a backup but he really started to play well at the end of last year. i still think he's gonna wind up in miami or the blackhole for aging players otherwise known as the raiders. lets not forget gannon got hurt pretty bad last year and isn't he like 5 or 6 years older than warner?
|
Whose the backup in KC? I still think he'll end up in Chicago, of course then having lovie smith could go both ways. He might know how Warner has been playing and not want him.

todd collins is the backup in KC according to their team's website. |
hmm, and under Vermeil Warner would be third string... I think he just didnt want him and said that as a PR move, both to make his guy feel good, and so he doesnt have to admit that Warner is done.

So now Martz says Warner isn't necessarily going anywhere

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/football/nfl/04/21/martz.warner.ap/index.html
I officially have no respect for Martz. When you tell a guy he's not in your plans, then you let him go. Simple as that. I'm no Warner fan, but a league MVP deserves more than a battle for second string. I know he's just posturing to try a force a trade rather than an outright release, but he looks like a bum doing it. |

so there's a chance he could go to dallas or ny, which would would be worse? this is mostly for those of u, like myself, who think warner might still have a bit left in the tank. |
Warner will end up in Chi-town.
K Collins in Oakland. |
The Giants are looking hard at Warner. It s a good fit in that Warner is the type of Vetern that doesn't mind and is good at teaching younger quarterbacks. Whether or not Eli starts all the games or they ease him into the season he can certeinly learn from Warner. Plus if things are looking too hot for Eli Warner can come in and play. Personally I think starting Eli behind that O-line in the NFC East is a huge mistake. He'll throw twice the amount of INts as TDs and get sacked so many times it will be sick.
