Re: Talyor 2 Be Charged 4 Aggravated Assault
WOW he seriously has some problems if he shot at someone's house

Re: Talyor 2 Be Charged 4 Aggravated Assault
there are conflicting stories.
one report says taylor shot at a persons home. another says he pointed a gun at someone then left only to come back to beat him up. either way, he will probably plead to a lesser charge. do community service and the nfl will suspend him for the first 4 games. its true our legal system takes far too much time to prosecute someone but i cant image ST actually wanting the case to go to trial.
To your first point, that's even more reason why people need to chilax for a minute until they reveal exactly the role that he played and the complete charges. As to your second point, I don't think the NFL can suspend him 4 games for a first offense if convicted/plea bargained. I am pretty sure a one game suspension is the max for the first offense. Had he pled/been convicted on the DUI then maybe a 4 game suspension but I'm sure it is less than 4 games for the first offense. |
Re: Talyor 2 Be Charged 4 Aggravated Assault
SI.com is saying something different:
Police said Taylor, 22, was accompanied by his attorney, Fred Moldovan, when he turned himself in. He has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and simple battery. According to police, Taylor pointed a gun at someone last Wednesday during a dispute over two all terrain vehicles he claims the victims had stolen. Taylor, who was with others, left the scene but returned about 10 minutes later and assaulted one victim with his fists. Another man, Charles Elwood Caughman, threatened and chased another victim with a baseball bat, police said. Caughman, 19, was arrested later that day and charged with aggravated assault, police said. |
I agree, saying he's done for the year already is jumping the gun a bit, our fine legal system doesn't work that fast fellas
I used to live in FL....if he is convicted, FL Law has a minimum sentence of 5 yrs for those crimes commited with a handgun. He is SCREWED if convicted!!! |
Re: Talyor 2 Be Charged 4 Aggravated Assault
If I had my way, he would be cut, but I understand it doesn't work that way. I really would rather just cut our losses now and move on, even if it hurts us in the short run.
I'm with you Paintrain, we should do what we can to get our money's worth.
...and in that spirit, I'd hope something like the following might happen: *ring* *mumble* Taylor's Mom: "Sean, Mr. Rosenhaus is on the phone." Sean Taylor: "What does he want?" Taylor's Mom: "He says that contract renegotiation isn't goin' so well anymore." Sean Taylor: "Tell him I'll call him back." *mumble* *click* ...forty-five seconds later... *ring* *mumble* Taylor's Mom: "Sean, Mr. Gibbs is on the phone." Sean Taylor: "What does he want?" Taylor's Mom: "He says you can't come to camp unless you renegotiate your contract." Sean Taylor: "Huh? ...Let me talk to him!" Taylor's Mom: "He hung up."
:laughing- |
Re: Talyor 2 Be Charged 4 Aggravated Assault
His contract should be renegotiated-FOR LESS MONEY!

He is SCREWED if convicted!!!
My friend lived in Vero Beach and he's a card-carrying member of the NRA and he told me the same thing - Florida doesn't screw around with criminals who mess with guns. However, a plea agreement is reached in 98% of all criminal cases. I would have to imagine that any such plea agreement would result in a lowering of the weapons charge to a non-firearm related offense. |

He Gone

Re: Talyor 2 Be Charged 4 Aggravated Assault
The modern day star athlete rarely goes to jail. Taylor may face charges but will end up with probation and community service. Rosenhaus and his lawyers will make sure of that if the charges even hold up. Hell if you are an NFL star--you can kill someone nowadays and get off (Leonard Little).
Me or you point a gun at someone=we're going to jail. Sean Taylor ends up in bed with a dead hooker=probation and community service... |
I used to live in FL....if he is convicted, FL Law has a minimum sentence of 5 yrs for those crimes commited with a handgun.
He is SCREWED if convicted!!!
It doesn't sound like he actually committed a crime with a gun, he used his fists and someone else used a bat, he initially used a gun to scare this individual but doesn't sound like it was used to actually beat anyone up, if he knew that this individual actually stole his vehicle than the guy probably got what he deserved. Who knows if he has a permit for the gun, his dad is a cop so if he had half a brain he should, but correct me if I am wrong aren't you allowed to carry in florida? Anyway this is a far cry from a drive by firing random shot's into a house. This is what it sound's like it will start stacking up as, now that the police are involved they will probably find out who stole Taylors vehicle, if it turns out it was this individual it will be very tough to make charges stick to Taylor, especially if this or those individuals are the eye witness's to him pointing a gun at them. Judging from the way Taylor has handled himself since he has arrived this may not be as bad as it initially seems, he doesn't let anyone know what's going on with him, we all thought he would be a hold out last season and yet he was one of the first guy's in camp, he was busted for DUI but never convicted, he defiently flirt's with disaster but seem's to alway's have an out, I have a feeling this isn't going to be all that bad for Taylor legally, the worst thing that will happen is the fact that whether or not he get's into legal trouble he is involved in another problem situation that makes him look bad. |
Re: Talyor 2 Be Charged 4 Aggravated Assault
offiss,
dude flashing a gun at a guy is a crime...hate to break it to you, and since it involves said gun it is also a gun related cime. you can't just threaten people with a gat. btw, do you think he has a concealed weapons permit or the gun is registered? doubt it. |
Re: Talyor 2 Be Charged 4 Aggravated Assault
Assault
Threat to inflict injury with an apparent ability to do so. Also, any intentional display of force that would give the victim reason to fear or expect immediate bodily harm. Assault = Crime Assault with a weapon = really bad crime you don't have to shoot, hit, bite someone to be charged with assault. using a weapon to intimidate or threaten is assault with a deadly weapon. If he's been charged with felony aggravated assault, that is a min one year sentence. Add the gun to the equation and the stakes go up. Of course, I am sure he has a great lawyer on retainer. Don't embarass the organization? I'd say this is pretty embarassing. |
Re: Talyor 2 Be Charged 4 Aggravated Assault
well he's been released on bond and they are gonna set up a date later, but i hope he takes this time to come back to camp, apologize for making the redskins look bad, and use whatever free time he has left to workout with the team. if i were him i would drop all contract renegotiations (sp), and try to salvage what's left of this offseason before he possilbly goes to jail for an extended period of time.
