This is going to be a dumb question, but I'm going to ask anyway.

Whats to stop say, Jim Haslett, from going to say Wegmans in Sterling and Tanard Jackson just 'happens to be there' and they see each other in the store. What they can't talk? Who would find out? Why couldn't they do that, or I'm sure some Redskins keep contact with other former players. Whats to stop a current redskin player from calling Tanard to hangout? Or that player arranging a meeting with Tanard and a coach like Raheem or Haslett in a place like a grocery store or restuarant or whatever?

I just find it a bit ridiculous when the NFL says hey you can't have any contact what so ever with this person or else..
I actually met Cerrato at wegmans. He has 1 bag of lean cuisines and he was a total D'bag in our conversation.

I've seen Cooley, Justin Tryon and HB Blades at that same Wegmans haha. Its what made me think of that example/scenario.

Yeah, I met Ryan Kerrigan over in that same shopping center, more towards the california tortilla, potbelly area.

^^^ I got the raw deal of it, while you guys are meeting worthwhile players. I also shop in northern Bmore close to PA. Which is 10 mins away from where VC lives and does his radio segment for ' the fan'

Generally, on the rare occasions I have seen players or folks from the sports world in their "civilian" activities, I don't approach them unless we're standing in line next to each other or something similar.

I would go out of my way to tell Vinny what a sucky GM/VP he was. I loathe him that much.

This could be the funniest offseason thread I've read on here.

Tanard Jackson and Haslett violating league rules by shopping at the same grocery store. Well done, guys.

Other than Wegman's...yeah, I doubt they hang out in the same types of places with the same kind of people. :D

I wouldn't say anything to Vinny.

I'd just sneak some KY and Visine into his basket, then stay back and watch him check out.

I once bagged Nate Newton's groceries as a kid growing up outside of Dallas.

JoeRedskin 09-03-2013 03:04 PM

Did those "groceries" come in dime or nickel bags?

Has anyone heard anything on Tanard? Has he even applied for re-instatement?

This was back September 2nd.

We are now in September and towards the end of safety Tanard Jackson’s suspension. Is there any chance that he could be reinstated this year and actually play? Is he even in playing shape? Has not been much news about him lately. We sure could use the depth with Phillip Thomas out now.
– Nate Broome

Jackson filed for reinstatement on Saturday – the first possible day – but the NFL didn’t act immediately, and isn’t expected to for a while. The last time Jackson was suspended for a year, the league didn’t reinstate him until four weeks after he was eligible to do so. No one really knows the answer to what kind of shape that Jackson is in. Once the league does reinstate him, the Redskins will get a window of opportunity to evaluate him in practices before deciding whether to activate him or not. Redskins fans have a great deal of excitement over the possibility of Jackson playing. But truthfully, I don’t know how much you can expect from a guy that hasn’t played in over a year, who also has failed multiple drug tests and has been suspended for four games in 2009, suspended for a year in 2010, and then again in 2012. That doesn’t sound like someone who has the discipline and reliability to serve as your last line of defense. The Redskins probably will be better off sticking with Bacarri Rambo at free safety and letting him develop because he is the long-term answer at that position.
