Nice scenario, now we return to reality and 2010.
If this guy wound up with a "lily white" jury in Manning, SC (35% white) or Columbia, SC (49% white), depending on the jurisdiction for the charge, then his attorney should be prosecuted. There would be plenty of justification to declare a mistrial or an appeal would certainly win. Do you understand how juries are selected in a criminal trial? SC Judicial Department You're scenario is also making the assumption that even if the jury was "lily white", a white person is going to automatically convict a black person because of racism. I don't live in SC but I do work with the some of the Navy civilians in the Charleston area (the folks I work with down there happen to be white) and none appear to be racists. I find that premise of your scenario to be offensive and racist.
Grow up in South Carolina!!!! grow up in Manning. South Carolina ain't VA. I grew up there i am a good sandlapper. I can say what i want to about SC. |
but,
a) he is not facing attempted rape - the charge is showing porn to a college student... b) he won, beating a 4 term incumbent, so obviously there was some support c) do you have ANY support for your accusation? d) I still don't see how this becomes like days past. are you saying that blacks have been put up as straw puppets and won the opposing party's nomination in the past?
Wait this one out you will see. I know that state. Lindsay Graham is the exception not the rule. U get himmed up by a local solicitor no telling what might happen. SC aint your average conservatives. Trust me that charge is related to him running. |
Re: Democrats Meet Alvin M. Greene Can't Make This Up
Don't assume they are smart. The state treasure got caught with a half a kilo of cocaine. The governor in Argentina. This is gonna turn out to be some stupid shit that backfires on them. I get what happeded politically. Low interest for Dems high interest from the base of Republicans. Vote Demint and then vote Greene for laughs. He won. Why is he running, with a charge like that?

According to Newsweek's Tony Dokoupil, "when people's opinion of Congress is near an all-time low, as it is today, majority party incumbents slip an average of 12 points in polls, compared with years in which the public views Congress more favorably. Interesting story but ultimately it's a non-event. There's no way the GOP will lose this seat.

I assure you, the state of WA is a better place to live and raise a family than SC. We live longer, produce more, are better educated, have higher income, and the food is better too...come visit. p.s. If SC is the swears, PA is the toilet. |

We had what's called Harborfest this weekend which is in city of Norfolk Va. and the city across the river in Portsmouth. We pretty much spent the weekend out on the boat enjoying the events. Its pretty cool as we have a river taxi which will pick us up so we can go on shore and enjoy the music and events. It will also bring out friends so they can get on the boat. Its nice because Grayson is now 3 and seemed to really enjoy the boat more this weekend and will finally go in the cabin and take nap. So how is the surfing in your area? Isn't the water very cold? |

Greene describes himself as a "moderate Democrat." His campaign slogan is "Let's get South Carolina back to work."[7] Greene favors measures to lower the price of gas and supports offshore drilling. Greene supports job creation and would increase highway construction projects and pursue alternative energy sources. He has also called for better school facilities and pay raises for teachers. When asked about free trade, Greene said that he has to look into the issue further before taking a position.[citation needed] On the subject of firearms, Greene said he supports the Constitution.[6] Greene favors winding down the wars the Middle East and "using that money for domestic programs, such as job creation, education, and Social Security."[6]
Alvin Greene - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Greene's wiki is already longer then Rawl's and his postions may help him identify with SC voters. Honestly i think i would vote for him just for the fun factor. |
Re: Democrats Meet Alvin M. Greene Can't Make This Up
So what if they found thet the Rep. got green to run then made a push to get him elected. Is there anything that could be done or is that illegal in any way?

The big issue that could get him kicked out is that you have to pay the 10,400 registration fee from your own assets. He also had to sign a affidavit when he got his public defender disclosing all assets and income. Im not sure if that was before or after he paid, and I don’t think anyone knows what he disclosed, or if he did have 10k in his bank account if that would disqualify his from public assistance. But it sounds like that’s the only thing that could mess him up. Obviously you should be able to continue your campaign if you get charged with some felonies, but I don’t know if you can if you get convicted. Also if they prove that the 10k came from someone else I have no idea how that works, and I don’t think most people are sure either. I know from a tax standpoint individuals can give 13k a year to someone without provoking the gift tax; however, the giftor techniqely has to list it on their tax return, but im not sure if they have to list the recipients ss#. So figureing out where the money came from should be a real challange unless he knows and says who gave him the money, or if the person who gave him the money is a complete idiot. Either way I think a lot of people are wondering if a gift recipient of the 10k qualifies as your own personal money. It sounds more like to me, you or your campaign has to write the check and that it doesn’t matter where the money comes from. I mean think about it, what percentage of politicians actually earned their own money as opposed to having received a inheritance or marrying into it? |
Re: Democrats Meet Alvin M. Greene Can't Make This Up
The most important thing to me is who’s gonna be the first to start selling tshirts that say: Vote Alvin Greene Senate 2010. I think you could make a decent amount, im pretty sure I would buy one for the extreme liberal in my office.
