Hard to imagine someone else wanting Haynesworth with that contract he's under.
I wonder, is there any sub-30 yr old o lineman out there with a similarly ridiculous contract that maybe because of scheme or whatever, doesn't fit in with his current team? That's really the only way I can see us moving Haynesworth, if we can swap equally ridiculous contracts... |

Both guys are underachievers on a 4-12 team. No fences need to be mended.
I don't get all of the AH and Landry hate. Neither of them has said a word about the RUMOR that they were offered as trade bait.
So did someone from the Eagles or Redskins confirm they were offered or is it some moron reporter trying to get on TV? Just wondering if this is based on fact or rumor?
I'm not hating on either of them. As for the rumor about the trade, I was just assuming this thread was credible. From there I made the point that if it is, neither of the two should have hard feelings, nor should the Redskins try to mend any fences. Why? Because this is a business, and there is no crying in football. |

Re: Fences to Mend?
I think this might have been a warning shot. Seems like someone wanted the world to know that they offered the two in a trade. Weather they were serious or not remains to be seen, however I feel like it's possible that they had no real intention of trading them rather sending a message to the team and Landry/Haynesworth that they can be moved. I'm not big on conspiracy theories, hate them in fact, but with Shanahan/Allen I wouldn't doubt that this was more of a warning shot then an actual offer.
Personally, I do not think Shannahan or Haslett have any loyalty to Haynesworth, and basically picture him as an overpaid slacker who is standoffish with authority.
I think Shanahan gives two shits what Haynesworth thinks. Like it or not, he is a pawn in Shanahans plans to get to where he wants to be, in the SuperBowl. If he doesn't like it, then he can go complain about it to his offseason personal trainer who is so good, even after his regimine, you still have to take breathers after two plays.
Love it when someone just tells it like it is. Haynesworth won't earn a quarter of what he is being paid here and isn't a 3-4 guy so he is trade bait for sure. Right now I would trade him and throw in Landry and Campbell in just to get rid of them. Of course I would want a few mid round picks for them. |

Stubblefield, Wilkinson, Haynesworth, next...

I don't get the sense that Shanny and Allen are playing games in order to send a veiled message to the players. They seem like direct people to me. In short, I think they did offer AH and Landry in trade scenarios. I think the kind of message they would send would go something like this: "You've been traded". |
Re: Fences to Mend?
Am i the only sane person here? I can't believe that the first response to this thead was "Eff both of them" !?!?!
Landry's effectiveness was hindered by him not playing the position he is best at. Albert's performance was also hindered due to the system, and in SPITE if that fact he contributed to the only bright side to our ugly season. If you don't attribute Albert's contribution to Orakpo's stunning rookie season and Andre Carter's 'awakening' then you aren't paying attention. We have nobody better than Landry in his position and we WONT get one in the draft. (with what we need, we BETTER not get one in the draft). As a matter of fact, Landry is better at EITHER safety position than either of the guys we have! Eff them!?! What, did you not watch us get ran over without Albert? Remember the second Cowboys game? They practicaly DARED us to stop them. They ran right up the middle like 12 times in one possesion!?!? They were like "EFF YALLS LINE!" and bowlin' fools over! You guys are so fickle. You guys throw skinz under the bus more than Portis ever did. At least Portis talked bad about people that actually $uck! Like Sellers, who's run blocking skills is gone and who fumbled away our win against the Saints and other teams. Who else did he trash... Oh yeah... ZORN!! How DARE he! Worn is the best coach ever! His playcalling skills are unquestionable! His powerful stern leadership rivals the greats through history! You guys make me ashamed to pull out my Redskins wallet whenever i pay for things. I pull out the wallet and now i'm gonna think people will think I'm one of you fools who will dump on a QB that compares to McNabb with worse receivers, worse line, worse coaching, retarded playcalling, and little help from punk @$$ turncoat fans. Throw dirt on a HB right after a probowl year and call him old while having RIGGINS as the man when he was old as DIRT when he was drillin' fools over! A man comes to a team that had several games without sacks one year and puts a man on each side of him into the DOUBLE DIGITS and you call him FAT ALBERT and are ready to trade him AS IF ANYONE WILL PAY A BAJILLION BUCKS FOR HIM !?!??! You bunch of ... UGH!! I bet you guys sleep real good in your Dallas Cowboys Snuggies and your pink Tony Romo jerseys... Yall don't know football |

Landry, as much as he's talented, has shown that he needs to grow up. But my whole deal is that Shanahan and Allen are talking business here, and technically have not loyalties to players acquired by the previous FO. Bottom line, the Skins need to get better and that means every player from that 4-12 team is on notice. |

This compares jason to Donovan last year... as well as the guy we luckily missed trying to replace him and a guy one of the IDIOTS on this site think we should have gotten in stead of McNabb. When comparing these stats, keep in mind, after Portis was hurt, each of these guys had better o-lines, HBs, and arguably better WRs... and definatly better coaches |
