2-1 is the only bright spot here. Although the way the entire team played today we could very well be looking at another 5-6 win season. I blame this loss more on the defense than the offense. We're up 17-3, it's on the defense to shut them down. Instead, we hand them 21 friggin points, and they shut our offense down. Granted, the playcalling was very conservative, and teams don't win by that, so i'm putting the blame on the entire team for this one.

Offense got way too conservative, the defense spent too much time on the field because of it, and the Giants gained all the confidence they needed to get back in the division race.

Pathetic 2nd half coaching. Gibbs used to be the master of half-time adjustments. I think he may have outcoached himself in this one. Very disappointing.

And why is Portis on the sideline so much?
Playcalling was bad, defense folded and Betts is the most useless short yardage back I have ever seen. Stretch the ball out and you score, break a tackle that 9 out of 10 NFL RB's break and you tie the ballgame. That was as inexcusable as taking the ball out of Jason Campbell's hands.

This game was reminiscent of the Norv era Skins.
Yeah I will say the last two play calls sucked. Why the hell was CP on the sideline? And why the hell didn't they let JC try and win that for us. Tough game all around. Im not ready to call for their heads just yet.

Tough for me to blame the defense when the offense kept going 3 and out and giving them no rest.

I really cannot believe this. This is almost exactly what happened last year. Last year the Giants had a rocky stary and needed a win, so we went and got our asses kicked by them. This year, the Giants are off to a rocky start and need a win, so we decide to just give them the game. I'm beginning to think the Skins enjoy losing. I haven't been this pissed off over a loss in a while, and I have to buy my friend dinner. Hail to the Redskins, Hail Victory.
LOL I love the board after a loss.

Welcome to over reaction city.
I gotta disagree that I'm overreacting. I don't blame the D for folding because they were on the field almost the entire second half. I blame whoever was calling plays for the offensive and defensive struggles. And everyone's favorite "power back"/"Joe Gibbs style runner" can't break a tackle that everyone else in the NFL breaks and doesn't even attempt to score.

Finally, I stand by my statement that they looked like Norv was coaching them today because that's the Skins team that I grew up watching: Get the lead, Put it on the D, watch the D give it back and then try to win it late.

Yeah so much for "bend but not break", but the D was on the field almost the entire second half. Some of the blame has gotta go to the Offense for not converting.

Agreed....Wish I could add to that, but its 100% on the ball...that was atrocious play calling in the second half....14 yards!?!?!?

To Quote Ozzie Gullien..."Pfff...Please"
Were not a good team, bottom line. That was fucking pathetic. ABSOLUTLEY pathetic. That playcalling was atrocious, I dont care what the Giants did, wheather they rallied or not, we were up SEVENTEEN TO FREAKING THREE.....Our offensive playcalling was ATROCIOUS...I could take the 11 people in my house and gain fourteen yards on offense against that pathetic Giatns defense
So?

The Giants are a great offensive football team who badly, badly outplayed us in the second half. Their defense was going to figure it out eventually, and I've been around the game long enough to know that if you help them out by making critical offensive mistakes, you are doing half the work for them.

Look, no reason to overreact. It's one loss, I don't think that at the beginning of the season that too many people had us better than 2-1 anyway.

Should we have lost that game? Well, because of the way we played in the second half, I'd say yes, we were outplayed (overall).

I still give us a good chance in the Meadowlands this December though.

I'm not calling for anyone's head. Not at all. I'm just upset about this one.

With the amount of time the defense spent on the feild, and the playcalling of the offense, I think THAT speaks for itself....yeah the defense didnt play great in the second half...but when you're playing for 30 straight mintues, that is going to play a big factor into why you cant play solid defense....

Re: Great Playcalling, Joe

Giants came out second half with incresaed intensity and the skins didn't..by the time they realized that fact it was a little too late. You can't strive to be one of the better teams in the league and have two TOTALLY different half's...after all they are all professionals. Also...the divorce papers are in the mail.
I dunno, I saw the same offense that I've seen the past few weeks. Only difference is today we didn't convert on 3rd downs enough.
I didnt. Play calling was much more conservative adn they only opened it up in the last drive. It was just run run run run swing pass, run run run, dump off deep bomb.

That kinda stuff isn't going to fly. It seemed like Gibbs was calling the shots this time until the end. It became almost comical how predictable the playcalling was. My friends and I were calling all the plays during the 2nd half before they happened.

If you've been around the game so long, Gtripp. How come we hardly even attempted to throw the ball against the worst passing D in the NFL? The run game is important, but after the first two 3 and outs, time to mix it up.

sellers shouldve had both those runs at the end hes a sure yard or two
