i'd love to see smoot here, however can you imagine Smoot's and Rogers ego in the same room? UGLY!
Rogers needs to be broken down some. He has the talent but he hasn't shown me anything to be egotistical about. More often than not, he should be embarassed when he cashes that game check. |

Getting back to original topic...does anyone honestly think Smoot would want to come back?

Re: Fred Smoot Update
Folks, we are 35 posts into this thread and no one has asked the critical question yet. Forget who will be the nickel corner. Forget what the cap implications of a signing might be. Forget all that stuff and focus on the REAL question:
If Smoot returned to the Redskins, would TAFKAS revert to his previous identity? Enquiring minds want to know... :) |

Re: Fred Smoot Update
I also wouldn't take Smoot over Springs or Rogers but weren't they talking about moving Springs to safety?
I loved Smoot when he was herebut he used to drive me crazy with the amount of cushion he would give receivers....even on 3rd and short. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing him back if he checked his ego at the door. |
Re: Fred Smoot Update
Just saw this on SI.com's truth and rumors...
It shouldn't be long before Vikings release cornerback Fred Smoot. -- St. Paul Pioneer Press
heres the link SI.com - Scorecard Daily - NFL: Chargers want Super Bowl delivery from new coach - Wednesday February 14, 2007 10:18AM |
Re: Fred Smoot Update
Dre Bly has reportedly asked for a trade as well. If you had to choose Dre or Smoot?

Re: Fred Smoot Update
My take on Smoot when he was here was that he was a Marine. I don't know what happened to him in Minnesota-perhaps the money softened him, but I never saw anything to complain about when he was here. I might be tempted to take a chance on him. His time in Washington couldn't have been as bad as his time up there so maybe he would consider it.
Some will bring up the sex boat, but really, I mean if you can't have group sex with strippers on a boat, what's the point of being a professional athlete? What's the point of going on in this world at all? In a world where there are no maritime orgies or peeing in people's yards, I think the living would envy the dead. |

Re: Fred Smoot Update
For the right price, sure bring him back. I agree w/ 70Chip, when he was here, he gave it his all. I don't think he was a particular favorite of GW so I am guessing he won't be back. Unlike Arrington, I don't think there was a lot of bad blood between him and Skins. Maybe he would be open to coming back. I don't think we just hand him a starting spot. Regardless of his opinion of himself, I think he has to prove he is a number 1 or 2 CB in this league.

Exactly...for the right price, Smoot would love to go ........fill in the blank. That's not a knock on him, just the way it is usually. |
