Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener
I get no pleasure from LA being hurt. However, it is hard not to enjoy seeing all those Giants fans (who were nearly unanimous in their belief that LA was the missing piece) have to STFU.
Okay, given the fact he may not play at 100% this season, now how do the Giants look when stacked up versus the East division? Not that he was solely the man that hyped up their rankings but he was mentioned as a reason.
I think LA, the LB, is a LC but maybe that's because I have a LD.
The Giants D is relying on a few vets who may not hold up well. On espn.com there's an insider article about concnerns over Sam Madison's work in camp. Will Demps will make an impact for them & Pierce gives them a solid MLB, but if you can block the ends we should be able to put some points on the board. Their O worries me more than their d. |

Or ED.

Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener
It's funny how the Skins took heat for letting go Ramsey, LA, Coles, Bailey, Pierce, Smoot. But when I look at that list I don't think our team would have been any better with any of those guys. Some might say we could have used Champ last year, but I still take Portis everyday of the week given his impact in '05.

I dont know if I really want to know what LD means but I will ask. |

Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener
What i hope LA doesn't do is continue to blame the 'Skins for his knee problems. He may have no one to blame but himself!

HAHA! learning disability. My wife's a teacher but she also might agree with AMD's guess! I'm tired...so very tired. |
Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener
That's the pay-off for having great upper body strength. Your knees will pay the price from the constant load/stress that it is put under. He'll have to redistribute his weight to his lower half and become a punter now.
This made me laugh out loud at work |
Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener
I like LaVar.

Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener
If this is from reliable sources, then it does sound like his knee troubles are starting all over again. But other than the last few posts, it seems everybody here is willing to say that he's through just because he's gonna miss the 1st preseason game. I'm not ready to say that he's not going to be a factor this year just because he misses one preseason game. It was only 7 months ago that he was playing well for us. If this problem persists late into preseason that's a different story.
Though Most people don't use this as a reliable source. What they usually report is pretty much on.. some things yes are unbelievable but i have seen things on there before they hit the news, espn, nfl.com etc..., he is already not playing in the preseason game this week not sure how long he will sit out. this is from the giants website Michael Eisen - Story - 8.10 Training Camp Report for Thursday, August 10 - Giants.com# could be longer, and profootball.com could be correct. with L. A. you never know but we will see. and if it is true will the reporters, etc.. will they say the skins really did not lose all that much when arrington left.. |

Since you like him, I have a lot of Arrington's rookie cards and high end cards and stuff if youre interested ill gladly let them go at a reasonable offer. If im correct he basically badmouthed Gibbs. if so then F*** him. i could be wrong but i think i recall that being thrown around there anyone who badmouths Coach Gibbs I will get rid of their crap. |
Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener
I actually don't like LaVar, I am just very bored with this thread.

Re: Lavar will not play in pre-season opener
He's not hurt...or so he says.
NJ.com: Everything Jersey "I'm not injured," he said. "They're not holding me back due to an injury. I think they're pacing me out. I get out there and I get pretty excited and I get to running around and different things like that." Arrington said he continues to be patient with the pace the trainers and coaches have set for him. "No worries -- it's not a frustrating thing," he said. "I'd love to be out there banging with my teammates. But I'm feeling great, actually. My workouts are going well. My conditioning is staying up. I'm getting my mental reps down." |
